I'm actually glad he was sent back down. I still think Gausman will do well in the MLB but he just wasn't ready to go from AA to the majors so quickly.

They aren't babies, you don't need to pamper them. There are plenty of All-Star to HOF quality pitchers that got shelled when they first got the call, worked on their mistakes and came back strong.

It was the right move by the Orioles regardless of what the results say.

I figured this was the case but didn't want to get blasted for covering Gausman's woes. I was shocked he was sent down b/c yesterday's performance was one of his best, but alas I knew we needed relievers.

Manager Buck Showalter said Friday, "If we would have played a nine-inning game, Gausman would have stayed."
