Kevin Harvick asks to be released from RCR

Kevin Harvick has asked Richard Childress to release him from his contract at the end of the season to join Tony Stewart's Stewart-Haas Racing team. Harvick's Shell/Penzoil sponsorship ends after this season and Harvick and Shell/Penzoil want to move to Stewart-Haas Racing together for the 2010 season.

Harvick and Stewart are my 2 favorite drivers and I would be very excited if this was to happen and the teaming of Stewart, Newman and Harvick would make Stewart-Haas Racing a powerhouse in NASCAR.

Not a big Stewart fan but do really like Harvick ever since he took over for Dale Earnhardt(RIP) but i agree i think this could make an awesome team and i would start watching NASCAR AGain if this was to happen.

you knew this was going to happen... they've been friends a long time. Harvick wants to win and this is his shot.

plus Stewart Haas has built a third team complete with pit crew for this season. they are renting them out to the smaller teams, all the while gaining experience.

plus, if they have injuries, like Newman did in the chase, they will have guys ready to step in and take over. With no Nationwide or Truck teams, they didn't have this luxury last season.
