I will help yall out... ALL rap is wack. It is sickening to glamorize the THUG and Gangster culture. People die in those areas and rappers and most of their fans are trying to act like that. Even christian rappers act very "Gangster" by the clothes they wear and what it represents. The only rap I listen too is TI but even that is a little much sometimes. Im all about Rock

This statement proves you know NOTHING about Rap or Hip Hop. You probably should stick to Rock, you know, the music that glamorized drugs and promiscuity for decades.

So you are saying that you DO know about rap? I thought that was a little before your time... and glamorizing drugs and promiscuity? I can find you KID CUDI songs that talk about that... should we try... all of them? I have a friend that LOVES Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne, and that junk, and he shows me the songs and stuff... I had another friend that LOVED Paul Wall... Ludacris, and a few others... and I have listened to their filth and sometimes wonder how any normal person can stand this stuff...

Rappers are a joke... a lot of the mainstream "gangsters" have never BEEN in jail... like Akon who sings about gang bangin and "Smackin that"... R.Kelly is IN jail for being a ******, Lil Wayne is in jail for bringing a gun on a bus, probably forgot to load it, what a pothead... he even admitted to Katie Couric on how "I love my weed because I am a gangster"

And what has this junk done to a small community like I live in? It turned it to complete trash... there are a ton of kids running around thinking they are cool, and "gangster" because they wear South Pole and are from Minneapolis... and the funny thing is someone picks a fight with them and they back down, not because they are smart, but because they were scared... I used to try to become a part of this group, and then I actually started playing a video game called guitar hero, and I realized I am not a gangster (and I also know I can't play guitar... so that comeback is dead) and ever since I have felt most comfortable with rock... I even tried fitting in with listening to country... but rock came in and I realized that I am not a country boy, or a gangster, but rather I am a dude who likes rock, and I quit trying to fit in and went my own way...

And ok, do you want to get into NON-Gangster rap? Shall we try a group called the KottonMouthKings? Just look at their song titles and tell me they don't glamorize weed... They arn't gangster, short of tattoos and hats but they produce the worst junk in the world, I have never heard a rocker or band glamorize weed like they do. I know a TON of people who hate "rap" but will listen to ICP and KMK...

There is maybe only one rapper in my entire life that I have heard of (minus all of the generic stuff for younger children) that doesn't glamorize this stuff...

Quite sad in my opinion
I know plenty of people that hate rock and love rap

Oh my, where do I begin? How about at the beginning.

Rap being before my time? You were probably not born yet when I was listening to Rap music. I didnt say that rap music didn't deal with the issues I discussed, but you talked about being a Rock music fan and said rap was "wack", even though Rock music that you said you listened to talked about much of the same thing. Thats called being hypocritical. You saying that is isn't normal to listen to Rap music just makes you look like a huge *********. Because its not your preference, its wrong? Might as well crawl back under the rock you came from.

You think rap music has made your community trash? Id say narrow minded people like you ruin a community more than a song. You say rappers are a joke because they havent done the things they rap about. Did you know that Will Smith really didnt work for the Government with Tommy Lee Jones? Did you know that Goerge Clooney and Brad Pitt werent really Casino vault burglars? What about Kevin Costner? Did you know that he really didnt own a farm where the Black Sox ghosts came to play? ITS ENTERTAINMENT! Movies and Music play to what people want to see and hear. Its not about it being "real" its about being something others associate with. Maybe a rapper has never been to jail, but someone that listens to their music might have been. They hear that and relate to it.

If you want to talk about something being "sad," I'd start with people that think they have a clue about music history and clearly don't. Part of your problem is that you have tried too hard to fit in rather than being OK with being different and liking what you like. Sounds more like YOU are the one uncomfortable with who they really are. Kids that wear South Pole, Phat Pharm and all that...did you ever think they bought it because they like the way it looks? I have a few pairs of Jordan shoes. I didnt buy them because I thought it would make me a better basketball player. I didnt even buy them because Jordan wore them. I wore them because I liked how they looked and they were comfortable.

Maybe your negativity surrounding everything outside your comfort zone has clouded your judgment.

No I wasn't born yet... and I don't really care about that... and I don't really listen to the "smoke weed and live life on the edge" junk... In fact, I hate Metallica... and those bands... I didn't ruin my community, frankly I don't care... and rappers arn't actors (some are... but that isn't what I mean) and by the way they dress and act SCREAMS "I was in jail... come get me." I highly doubt Smith wears a govt. suit and tie everywhere he goes... and I don't care about music history (now you are going to tell me you ARE a historian). Uncomfortable with who I am? I am not covered in scars and hate my life... I love life... I have tried to fit in with the "wrong" crowds so I gave up trying to be something that I am not and became more of who I am... and do you know the people that hang around my friends? They dress and act the way they do because they THINK they are gangsters... They even talk about how they "represent" major gangs... which I laugh at that because come on... we are in a town that hasn't had a murder in over 10 years, we are surrounded by corn, and we have had 3 fights this year... which is about normal. People try to make this dump into something it is not...

Maybe I was out of place to say a genre of music ruined our town, because that can't really happen, but I have seen some of my friends go from Nickelback to RHCP to Lil Wayne to Kid Cudi, and with those changes, they have changed. I don't like it.

I am not saying it isn't normal... go ahead listen too it... I ain't gunna call the cops on you, I don't like it and what most of it stands for. Same with rock... I cringe at some of the stuff they say... but I was listening to some rock last night about how a guy looked at his life and realized "I need to change or Im going to hell"

I hate the Indians too but I am not going saying it isn't normal for you to be a tribe fan... It just bothers me that people think it is "cool" to blow someone else's head off.

" I know plenty of people that hate rock and love rap"

you described my closest friends

No I wasn't born yet... and I don't really care about that... then dont comment about things being before anyones time if it doesnt matter to you

rappers arn't actors (some are... but that isn't what I mean) they are ENTERTAINERS. I put in Caps last time, but I did it again just so you see it. They are entertaining people and portraying a character. You like Rock, you think every current Rock song is a true story? No, its not

I don't care about music history then dont talk about the history of music.

Maybe I was out of place to say a genre of music ruined our town, because that can't really happen, but I have seen some of my friends go from Nickelback to RHCP to Lil Wayne to Kid Cudi, and with those changes, they have changed. I don't like it. I doubt people are basing their choices and preference on if YOU like it or not, so your opinion of them really doesnt matter

I am not saying it isn't normal.you just said you dont see how normal people can listen to "this stuff" referring to rap. Maybe people think you arent normal because you are narrow minded and perpetuate stereotypes of certain groups

I hate the Indians too but I am not going saying it isn't normal for you to be a tribe fan... I'm not a Tribe fan, so this point is irrelevant

I really could do this all day, but I hope you get the point that your statements make you narrow minded and the type of person that keeps stereotypes going strong. I'd rather have some white kid walking around pretending to be "Gangsta" than a kid like you that thinks every white kid wearing South Pole clothes wants to be one.

I don't think EVERY kid does, just the ones that I see around here.. I wore south pole for some time after my "Im a gangster period..." I even had an Avirex (or whatever it's called) shirt that I wore for the first part of the school year... You can tell by the way they walk, talk and treat others.

and I know you know everything Tom except the people where I live... that is what I base my judgements off of

I got stuff to do so I am done on this thread, I won't reply to it any more

Thats how an adult conversation differs from a child's conversation. You, being a child, say you're done and wont reply anymore, basically because I've dismantled every part of your argument. You are saying that EVERY kid that wears Avirex, South Pole, etc is trying to be a gangster, and unless you know what every single person thinks, which you dont, you cant say that is their reasoning. Trying to take a shot at me saying I know everything, again, being childish. I got used to your behavior over at Topps, begging people to deal with you. You're the same way here as you were there, begging for people to deal with you. Thats fine if thats how you want to be. People wont take you seriously here just like people didnt take you seriously there. If you were smart, you'd just shut up, but you always had to have the last word, or you'd pull the "I have something else to do so I wont reply to this thread again" routine. You became known for that and people really just started thinking of you as a joke and a little kid not worth dealing with. If thats how you want to be, fine. Just don't look for sympathy over here. Feel free to not reply again as your opinion really had no merit in the first place as it was all stereotyping and after it was picked apart, proven completely illogical.

Have a good night sunshine.
