Probably MVP 2005.

Honorable mentions for all of the awesome good fun with the Triple Play series (especially 1998-2001), Ken Griffey's Winning Run (SNES), All-Star Baseball 2001 (N64) and MLB The Show.

correct
my question is, 5 years ago, in the spring of 04, MVP came out. was it MVP 05 or MVP 04? some video games tend to add a year on if i recall (like ncaa football 09 comes out in summer 08)

The original Ken Griffey baseball for SNES was the bomb. RBI Baseball for NES was my first addiction.

I got ya!

The next game coming out is MLB 09 The Show, so I guess the year is the same.

Football generally comes out a "year" ahead in numbering I think. And basketball.

Anybody remember how hard Base Loaded was for the NES ? Just making contact was a victory. Wish they could manage a AI like that nowadays.

Favorite baseball game: Maybe Triple Play 99 for the PS1 OR Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 for SNES.

Forgot to mention Hardball 5 for PS1. That was the first game that got me to play through an entire 162 game schedule. The Rangers were awesome on there as long as you could pitch with Darren Oliver
