Anyone hitting up the card show to kick of Labor Day Weekend in San Diego? I think I'll head out there for a bit, though I'm not sure what time. See if I can't raid the bargain relic bin.

Depends what you're looking for. Last time I was there, there was a reasonable selection of wax (boxes only)... all the 'hot' new stuff, anyway. Loads of singles. I like the cheap relics. It's free, so there's nothing to lose, really.

There isnt a whole lot of selection singles wise but what they do have its pretty good, you can find some hot prospects in the $3 autograph box which is nice. My dad bought a Brandon Belt school colors auto for $2.50 a few weeks back. Wax wise Jerry always has the newest wax available for mainly the same price as Blowout/DA ect..rainmanesq said:

That's a hell of a drive for a card show... it's not very big. Not to take business away from anyone, but I don't think I'd drive 2 hours for it. I'm bad at estimating sizes. but I'd say it's 5-10 tables, if that. Small room. Probably NOT what you picture when you think of a card show... unless it's been at the Kings Inn for years and years in the same "conference room."

i wouldn't drive just for the show. i have friends in sd, so figure if i'm down there, i may stop by. there hasn't been a decent show in la for years.

Ha, I'll be there close to 5pm, too, with my son. I'm curious to see what you're picking up (and being so secretive about!). Hopefully not something from the $2 bin

Yankees cap and nine month old son for me. Will be there less time than it take me to drive due to kids' attention spans these days

Met Seiya real quick in the parking lot, then robbed Keith blind. Ha, not really, but got some fun cheap relics. I'll post later this weekend.
