I'm just one card away from this 28 card monstrosity. Missing the 1/1, but I do have the Sparkle Prizm, which aren't supposed to exist for the 1st 100 cards (Jeffress is #86). Beat that, anyone?

PS: it looks like 2020 Prizm has at least 30 parallels. If any crazy MF has assembled that one, let them speak now...

Well jeez I used to be pretty impressed with my 14-card 2019 Panini Spectra Trent Dilfer Rainbow, but it's been doubled.

I only have pics of individual cards and don't want to spend time uploading them all so here's just the base 01/99 and "Gold" (complete Superfractor ripoff) 1/1:

Only 14 measly cards? And you call yourself a Dilfer super collector?? :) Well despite it's 14-card-ness, that is a very nice run.

So I actually looked it up, and 2020 Prizm baseball has 35 parallels. So including the base that's a 36 card run. Sweet Jebus. If Alomar was in the 2020 set, I'm mostly sure I wouldn't go for it. It was fun to chase the 2019 rainbow, but I'm not anxious to try that again. And neither is my pocketbook.

There's someone in 2020 Prizm Draft that I'm working on the base AND auto rainbow. That's 43 cards, and I already have 30. One of the 1/1 non-autos is on ebay for probably 20 times what it's actually worth, so it's not happening anytime soon.

I'm not a big fan of rainbows. My biggest feat is the 2000 EX Exceptional Blue/Green/Red insert combo for Frank Thomas.

Lordy, 43 cards. Good luck!

It occurs to me that the 2014-2018 Tek runs were around 25 cards each, if you count the auto parallels. So that's getting up there. I think several people on this board have completed entire runs.

Panini rainbows seem to be a little easier, thanks to the general undervaluing of Panini product versus Topps/Bowman. The same guy who has the 43 card beast in Prizm Draft is in Elite, and I've picked up some low numbered autos for less than what a common Chrome Draft base auto would sell for.

I have close to 50 different 2020 Jose Abreu Topps cards.

I guess the Tek cards aren't really considered, as they are not different colors, but patterns. Weren't there like 100 patterns for each player? My biggest run of different cards, but mostly the same, would have to be the 2005 Studio Portraits set. 56 cards when you have all the border colors, image colors, back variations by set name and serial number differences. If I recall, from the front only, there are maybe 8 different looking cards (border and image colors differing).

The first incarnations of Tek had 90 different patterns in 1998, 60 in 1999, and 20 in 2000. But yeah, nobody calls those "rainbows". The only colored parallels were diffractors (1998), then golds (1999 and 2000).

But the 2014-2019 Teks were different, and closer to a more proper "rainbow". They had different patterns as always, but also several different colors mixed in. And then there were the auto versions.

This is getting into the minutiae of how a "rainbow" is defined, versus say a "run". I think a rainbow generally means different colors, whereas a run is a broader term that can encompass all sorts of variations, from errors to autos to patterns and so forth. So that 2005 Studio Portraits would be a massive run, containing a smaller rainbow. At least that is how I'd define things.

Technically to complete one of the '90s Topps Tek rainbows you'd need not only the dozens of base variations, but the 1998 Diffractor or 1999 Gold/10 versions of each variation, as well. That would be incredibly impressive if somebody has done that.

So - I count 37 cards, and if you're missing 2 that means 39 total? Good lord.

It’s not finished but definitely a large one 2020 Topps Soroka master rainbow. I’m o ly missing the clear /10 and foilfractor 1/1 (doubt that will ever surface) for the series 1 rainbow, chrome, UK, sapphire and Ben baller are hard to find. but it’s been a fun chaseView attachment 120743

Not a rainbow in terms of a single card with many variations, but has anyone ever collected every card of their player from 1997 Score? Griffey's main base has 7 or so different variations with a total of 31 (I think) cards in the release.

I was happy to finish this 40-card wall from 2008 Upper Deck Piece of History. Not, strictly speaking, a rainbow because it's 5 different designs, but they're all in the same product. I managed to find them all within a couple months of release, IIRC, which was pretty lucky. The cards are #/25 and up, except the buttons are #/5.

I decided it looks better to display like this but there is also a 41st card. There's a red verion of the jersey card in the "Franchise Histrory" subset (2nd row) that doesn't exist within the other subsets for some reason. It is unnumbered, which is also unique among all the cards. I've always been curious what happened there. Many players have one, and there are unnumbered red jersey versions of the other subsets, but Sizemore isn't in those. I assume it's an oddball extra tier fractured parallel, but I always thought it was peculiar.
