Last Minute Hotel for National - Hotwire Success

For any of you considering last minute plans to make it to the National, I just booked through Hotwire choosing 4-star hotel in the ORD South area. Depending on the website, there are only 3 or 4 hotels that fit this criteria, including the Hyatt connected to the Donald Stephens Convention Center and others only a mile or so away. Anyway, the hotel rate was $71 and after booking when Hotwire releases the hotel name I was very happy to see that the hotel booked was the Hyatt.

Rechecking Hotwire after my booking appears to have increased the lowest hotel rate for 4-star ORD South to $82. Hope this helps anyone looking for a last minute hotel.

Yes I did. I tend to check Hotwire when I know an area fairly well and know the hotel options. And for $71, any 4 star hotel around O'Hare was going to be fine with me. The fact it turned out to be the Hyatt was a lucky bonus.

The Hyatt Regency O'Hare??? That was supposed to be sold out awhile ago, all the rooms, not just the rooms at the National "deal" price. Interesting.

remember there are 2 Hyatt with in Rosemont. 1 is right next to the convection center and another on 9300 Bryn Mawr Ave, Rosemont, IL, 60018
and the other one is located
6350 N River Rd Rosemont, IL, 60018 this is right next door to the center the other listed about is about 3 miles away

Not sure if I'm reading this right, but just to clarify the Hyatt Regency O'Hare located at 9300 Bryn Mawr is the Hyatt connected to the convention center. When using Hotwire for the convention center it's important to only select "ORD - South" as this eliminates the other Hyatt which is further north and other hotels that are a little further away.

The address for the Stephens Center is 9301 Bryn Mawr. The Hyatt is at 9301 Bryn Mawr.
