It doesn't matter in person but scans of Leaf Metal Football Prismatics don't radiate like you would expect. If the baseball product has the same lackluster effect online, I think it will take a hit. Most of the "showing off" collectors do nowadays is online so good scans are necessary. Comparison examples...

I tried scanning this in every direction on my scanner and somehow the one I left apparently had a hair on it. Didn't notice that until now but the card has been sold for awhile now anyway.

Opposed to this Blue Refractor scanned using the exact same scanner...

EEE cards don't scan like a Blue Refractor either. This thread isn't about Topps/Bowman products.

I didn't expect the poll to be this close when I created it.

If Panini uses that hideous, godawful, moronic design from this years football set then put me down for 0 EEE this year.

It seems like the most miniscule of difference to me but assuming the EEE product will have the Major League Player's Association logo, will it make any difference at all?

Good point worthy of asking twice, but better yet what good does the Major League Player's Association logo do to a product that only has minor league players?? Its as good as putting the NFL Player's Association's logo on those cards.

Minor league licenses and logos make the most sense here for someone looking for official licensing and logos.

The "Prismatic" is supposed to be the equivalent of a refractor. I am not a frickin idiot. I can read the topic. Here's an EEE card that I would prefer over the Newton scan....

To be fair, you need to compare parallel to parallel and base card to base card.

Here's two blues, one from EEE and one from Leaf. I think they are comparable.

Incidentally, you and I have both pointed out another issue with grading EEE - tons of 9 autos due to stickers.

I figured EEE would take the lead, due to its' reputation.

Which product do you choose between the two, based both on eye appeal and for investment purposes?

I think for eye appeal I will end up liking Leaf better but for investment purposes I am tilted in favor of EEE and that's mostly due to a track record of acceptance by buyers aka demand. I'd like to take a risk on Leaf as an investment but I am looking at it as more of a risk than for EEE all else being equal.

No doubt Leaf for numerous reasons. First, design. EEE looks like shat. Second, on card autos. Third, gradability. Fourth, my track record at prospecting EEE cards has been terrible. I tell myself every year that I won't buy any EEE, but I end up picking up singles, only to see them crash in price once the revised Draft checklist comes out :benson:

You have to wonder if part of EEE's reputation is simply because of the fact it has been around - outside of Chrome products, what prospect product has any level of continuity?

Leaf reminds me of late '90's Topps Finest...which isn't bad.

EEE on card relic/autos are sharp...but the sticker autos need to be changed to a blank background. Last yrs were awful.

Can't decide right now...but might lean towards Leaf.
