was just listening to a cleveland sports radio guy and he said lebron will for ever be known as a quitter in cleveland......seriously WOW, i know i personally would have loved to have him on my team....maybe the fans should look at his teamates and coach and not him.....im glad he will be leaving there soon.

and a side question to the few basketball guys we do have on here, obvioiusly im not going to sell my bron spx jsy/auto now for the price i want, do you think i should list it as soon as it is announced that hes going to ny/nj?

I'm watching this crap too. I'm not a Lebron fan by any means, but to say that he quit on the team, to say that he didn't try, to say that he is trying to ease his way out of town is uncomprehendable. Lebron was just shut down for the better part of the game. It's that simple.

I love Lebron,he is far from a quitter in my eyes. The team needs to get back to what got them 60+ wins the last 2 years. My only problem with Lebron is that 2 games in this series he is shooting to many jumpshots, when he needs to driving and getting contact and putting Boston players in foul trouble or drive and get a double team and dish is out to a wide open teammate.

I personally think Mike Brown is a average coach at best, his decisions sometimes make me go goofy. The whole team needs to step up and we here know that, but Lebron as the leader of this team needs to take it the celtics like he did in game 3...Michael Jordan/Kobe Bryant have done what they needed to get thier team over the hump,Now Lebron needs to do it for us to win a Championship. The supporting cast is good enough to win a Championship for Cleveland.

I just don't see them winning tonight.

I'm not going to go so far as to call him a "quitter", but NO defense, even the Celtics, should be able to hold LeBron to 4 shots in the first half of a must-win playoff game. A legend like Bird, Jordan, Magic or even Kobe (who I hate, but is getting more props from me) makes his impact on the game early and often. So, maybe he didn't quit, but there's something going on there.

It is amazing how people choose to ignore years of performance for one game. I do wonder if he is significantly more injured than he has shown. I'm also not convinced that they won't still win the series. I don't count it against James to score 45 the next two games.

I'm not ignoring it, but Game 5, at home, is the exact situation that he SHOULD score 45. I'm just curious as to why he didn't even seem interested in trying to (like I said, I'm not saying he quit).
The injury angle is interesting, because from what I'm told (I haven't seen it, mind you), the video of the play he injured himself doesn't seem to be that serious. But, for him, he really doesn't have a way out. Either:

a) the injury is not serious, but he's playing it up to have a built-in excuse for poor performance; after all, it didn't seem to hurt in Game 3. If this is the case, then his reputation will take a serious hit (as it already seems to be), as a soft player without the championship grit.

b) the injury is significant, but not debilitating, and varies in pain and performance from day to day. As a result, you get an inconsistent LeBron. And the knee jerk reactions to his play will swing wildly on off-days. Supporters will say, "See? He's a winner!" after the good games and the critics will blast him after the bad ones.

c) the injury is serious, and he's playing through it. I heard one report that he needs Tommy John after the season ends. Well, that might shy away some teams from pursuing him (they would be stupid to think that way, but look at some of the teams we'd be talking about), and maybe he thinks that hurts his chances of getting out of town (if that's his choice), if there's a chance he misses most or all of next season after surgery. But, if the injury is serious, he needs to come out and say it despite whatever effect it might have on his contract status.

Not to mention, the whole left-handed free throw deal was just awful.

I've like LeBron for years; I wanted him to be in that Top 5 of all-time conversation, but over the past couple of months, he's starting to wear on me.

Sports Talk Radio, portions of ESPN TV (Around the Horn of Cold Pizza Nation), and internet websites (CBSSportlsine.com, etc.) make their living by stirring up the pot simply for the sake of stirring the pot.

I did hear someone say that Lebron's elbow injury was akin to Al Czervik's (Rodney Dangerfield) "injury" in Caddyshack. It was a funny line, but I don't put much faith in it.

PTI is pretty decent...usually

Lebron is not a Quiter he was just defeated!! The Celtics literally Defeated Lebron in that last game and Have done it to other super stars.

43min (7-22) 22points 3reb 1assist 1stl 4turnovers

The line above is Kobe Bryants Line in game 6 of the Finals when everyone on thought Kobe was going to come out and score 40+ and he could'nt and looked exactly like Lebron Deafeated!!!

The moral of this is Kobe bounced back and won a title last year and so can Lebron. Lebron will get over all this and eventually win a Title and all will be forgotten.

(Also speaking of Kobe I dint even mention the series the year before were the Lakers had the Suns on the Ropes and up 3 games to 1 and Kobe let the suns come back from 3-1 and win the series. Kobe had 50points in game 6 of that series and still lost so they went to a game 7 where everyone thought Kobe was going to come out and dominate and Kobe score 24pts in a game 7)

The Problem is people try and Compare Lebron with Jordan (They already tried with Kobe) when he was in his prime, people Forget that Jordan had his struggles before he started to win all those titles. Sure you dint see Jordan Give up or appear to give up when those early Pistons teams beat Jordan down or when they played those overmatched Celtics with Bird and company. There are still no basketball player that have come close to matching the acomplishments that Micheal Jordan has on his resume. Kobe has come the closes and he is not even close (He still has more B-ball to play). I mean Jordan had 10 scoring titles in a row and Kobe has, what 2? or 3?. Micheal has 5 MVP awards and Kobe has 1 and for those who say Kobe was robbed on a couple and should have more, Jordan also got robbed and should have more  . Micheal has 6 finals MVPs and Kobe has 1. I can go on and on. This is not a Kobe bash but the point again is Lebron is no Jordan so the media need to get off of it and let Lebron be Lebron. There will not be another Jordan for a while.
Lebron will recover from this and is not a quiter.

Well up until the last two games you couldn't call him a quitter, but he didn't give his all in what may be his final two games for the Cavs. At least he wasn't a little bitch this year when he got eliminated and congratulated the Celts.

Watching the relief on Bron's face when he took off that Cavs jersey for probably the final time was priceless.

LeBron and the entire team basically quit last night. They had their will completely broken and gave up with 2 mins left in the game. How can you not foul down by 9 points with 1:30 left. That's a lot of basketball left to play. He may not be a quitter in general but he definitely quit last night.
