No, I mean an actual auction or an actual ending price. I am just curious to see what they have sold for. By simply saying "Double" that could be between $10K and $30K

well it obviously sells for more, which was your whole question

Yes, that was his question. But he wants to know what the actual ending price difference was between the two... like he said, when PA said double, there's a huge difference between double of $10k and double of $20k...

I am sure if you ask around, many will know I was heavily involved in basketball. While I never owned a /23 or /99, I've had close close friends have them and actually send them to me to sell.

I asked a few friends, which included the likes of guys like NISMO, Cupes and a few other guys who were big into 03-04 exquisite. They told me that you would always see around double for the price of /23s. Example they both gave me was when lebron /99 was grabbing 6-7k, the /23's were going for around 12-14k. The problem with pulling up auctions, is that even in terapeak, there is no sales or completed except for recently. Rumor was that there was a guy that kept a spreadsheet on another site, that included serial numbers, patch colors etc.

I knew there were people with actual results, which is why I said I am curious. With stuff like this, I know people keep logs to check for accuracy and for trends. Would just love to see high and low points on these. I know the low point was nearly $5k and I believe the high point of a base was close to $13k?

Yup, you just have to find the boards that are dominated by Basketball guys. I used to have a close friend, named Kideasian, that keep a sheet on all of the /99s from 03-04. I haven't talked to him in a year though, and have no clue if he is still in basketball cards.

I thought it was kidsensasian?

Speaking of spreadsheets though, I used to keep one of 05-06 GOTG thinking that would be the next big set. Looks like it all went to waste when Topps/Fleer stopped producing the product. What a great set though...

I remember buying a Chris Paul Gold #/25 and flipping it the same night for $950. (Profit of around $600 in 5 hours). That night he rolled his ankle and was gone for a few weeks or a month. (Cant remember). I then remember seeing that same exact copy, now a BGS 9.5, only sell for $350 last year. I fully believe the card is trimmed now because it had a slight corner damage to it when I sold it.

Everyone though that set was the next big thing because of the /99 rc on card autos. It is a amazing set though. And IFT4, yes thats the name misspelled it.

The low price of a Lebron #/99 was around $1500. I know because I bought one for around $2,000 that was a 3 color patch from Jonny Chase.

[quote="Tomlinson21RB":1j5h7k3k]Is this the most valuable modern card?

One of them, yes, but there are more valuable ones, such as his gold exquisite auto patch /23

reyes7- the plainness of it makes it so great... that's why so many people love the 03-04 exquisite set, it's simple.

Are you sure his Gold outsells the base?

Yes... why wouldn't it? It's the exact same thing except on a lower print run. Kutzy, I know you used to do basketball, so I thought you would know this? Gold exquisite always sells more than the plain ones. It works the same for Luther Head as it does LeBron James :D

That is aboslutely not true at all. It is a parallel of a rookie, not a true rookie. Even moreso for the guys with higher print runs. #/33, #/50, etc. Do not always sell for more than #/99 or #/225.

In Luthers instance, its a no brainer. #/4 vs. #/225.

When was the last reported sell of a #/23 Lebron? I am very interested to see the difference.

Also, I would like to note I have never paid attention to Exquisite gold rookies. Never looked it up before once in my life.

The /23 has ALWAYS outsold the regular version in 03-04. In basketball, unlike in hockey, the collectors want the parallel versions. The "true" rc argument really holds no wait for basketball, in a lot of other sports, especially hockey it does.

BTW the only high # guys are like Mike Sweeny from that set, and well he sucks and doesn't sell period.

Also all the /99 guys, over the years have very low jersey numbers. Gay is /22, marvin /24, Deron /8, Roy /7, Bosh /4, Wade /3, Carmelo /15, Lebron /23, Deng /7, Gordon /7 etc etc.[/quote:1j5h7k3k]
Wouldn't the exquisite/23 and exquisite/99 be comparable to an 08 draft orange/25 and an 08 draft blue/99 in baseball? Wouldn't it get significantly more, like over a grand?

I could be completely wrong but I thought the parallel version /23 was just serial numbered and did not have an auto/patch. Doesn't make sense but I thought a thread was made just a few weeks ago about this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... tsupported

There is a gold version (#/25 non auto/patch) and there is a Rookie Patch Parallel (#/jersey number Auto/patch)

Looks like the seller pulled it down. I hate when people do that...

To avoid ebay fees maybe
Possibly. I understand why people do it...I just hate not being able to see the final price 8-)
