Saying no one in the NBA should wear #23...

Guess he will be signing with the Bulls.... just giving the heads up now... so he can get used to the new #.

Rapey needed an image overhaul dearly.

And it was a mistake for LBJ to even wear 23 in the Association to befin with. He should have tried to carve his own path with a number that isn't already iconic.

Yea I agree he needed an image overhaul, just dont like it when good players change their numbers. Good point with Lebron as well, looks like regardless of whether he stays in Cleveland or not, he's gonna be dominating jersey sales.

Really. I think only ignorant people really believe he ***** her. She would have prosecuted him to the fullest if he had. She was either looking to get famous or paid.

I don't think he ***** her at all. I just hate him for trying to be Michael Jordan. He tries to emulate him in just about every way, even the way he talks.

didn't every kid that aspired to be a basketball player try to emulate MJ? Air Jordan's are the most popular sneakers in the country for a reason. LeBron wears 23 in honor of Mike, and is switching to 6 (his Olympic number) in homage next season. No hate for him or any other player in the league that wears the number because of him? this thread is too much

Just saw this story on ESPN.com

If the NBA were to retire Michael Jordan's No. 23 leaguewide, there are several more players just as worthy of the distinction, the newly inducted Hall of Famer says.

LeBron James, who wears No. 23 for the Cleveland Cavaliers, said last week he would change jersey numbers next season in honor of Jordan, and said no other players should wear it, either.

Jordan, speaking via phone to "All Access with Ahmad" on NBA TV, said he was grateful to James for the consideration but that he would have to be among a group of players to receive such an honor.

"It was very nice, I totally understand that," Jordan said on NBA TV. "But I'm a guy that says there is no one great player in the NBA. The NBA lasts a lot longer than one particular person so I understand what his point is."

A leaguewide retirement is unlikely, since the NBA leaves the decisions on retiring numbers to the teams.

"Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Bill Russell all those guys should have their jerseys retired, too," Jordan said. "I understand his gesture, but I am in the same group as those guys so I wouldn't want to see my jersey retired unless you retire those guys. It is a compliment. I totally understand that. I appreciate LeBron for doing that and it is very thoughtful."
