I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but this is just blatant, flat-out arrogance to me. Clearly the kid had no problem with it, but if he'd done this to me I would have thrown the fries at him. It's disgusting and violates my personal space. Maybe he wouldn't have done it at all if it were me - I'm just saying what I would have done if he had.

Just my opinion.

That video made me laugh. The kid thought it was funny and gave him a high five. Heaven forbid an athlete interact with fans and make the game more enjoyable.

Baseball fans have completely different thoughts on how athletes should act than basketball and football fans. Baseball fans are too uptight about respecting blah blah blah.

Now, obviously, the LeBron haters are having a field day with this.

More. Enjoyable. ::facepalm::

I would have said the same thing had this happened at a baseball game, FYI.

I agree, LeBron is one of the most arrogant players in all sports. The media gives him a pass on it though. His whole routine just seems to be an act for the cameras. I don't really like that usually.

I don't really have a problem with this particular act though.

 I would have had him sign the Fry and then accually sell it on ebay and make pretty good coin.
I have no problem with it but I also have no problem with Lebrons upbeat personality.

Is this the same guy who said a few weeks back that no one should every wear Jordan's #23 in the league ever again as a sign of respect? I believe so. Jordan would never do something like this. Jordan was just as arrogant as Lebron is now, however, Jordan had a quiet arrogance about him.

Lebron is a ********* and needs to learn how to respect the game that has given him the opportunity to live the lifestyle that he is living.

I like Lebron's Game, but don't care for the dancing, fry eating...etc. Let's not forget about about who we're talking about here. This is the same guy that walked off the court without congratulating the Magic after being owned in the Conference Finals. Seems like he's all games when everythings going good!

I know you would have said the same thing if it happened at a baseball game. You're, in my opinion, a baseball fan more than any other sport. If I had to generalize I'd say baseball fans are FAR more uptight than any other sport. Maybe it's because of the games history, or the slow pace of it, or that the game itself is set up to limit interaction with the fans. Basketball is different. You can sit right on the court with no wall between you and the players. It appeals to a younger demographic because it is more fast paced than baseball.

And yes, MORE ENJOYABLE. If one of the greatest athletes in the world makes makes an amazing play in front of me and then has some sort of interaction with me (including eating a couple of my french fries) I'm going to love it. I watch sports because every day you can see something or experience something that creates a lasting memory or something to talk about. Ten years down the road is this kid going to look back on that moment happily telling friends about Lebron took a couple of his french fries or is he going to be pissed that he had 2 less french fries because some big jerk took them?

Some times people are too "mature" for their own good. We worry too much about what people should and shouldn't do, and lose the ability to see things for what they are. Sure the talking heads on ESPN or whatever are probably calling him arrogant to create a stir, but all this turns out to be is Lebron James having fun with a fan and making that fans time at the game more enjoyable and memorable.

Too each his own though.

To bad Panini or Upper Deck were not in attendance to buy the rest of the fries, and make Lebron James game event fry cards. Who wouldn't want one of those

I remember a clip of Mattingly grabbing a kid's popcorn during a game...the kid was in awe that Mattingly was so close.

My bad then. I only see you posting on the baseball board and pretty much focusing on prospects. So I guess you're just an uptight basketball or football fan. I apologize.

If uptight means someone who would rather not have a stranger take something right out of my hands then I guess I'm guilty.

Like I said, too each his own. You're more worried about one of the best basketball players in the world taking 1-2 french fries from you whereas I'm thinking of the story I'd then have for the rest of my life to tell my friends. I understand your point, but it's not like he took the cup or tray of french fries out of a kids hand and dumped it on the ground.

I don't get starstruck by anyone, including him. No one. Athletes are human beings just like the rest of us. Celebrities are human beings like the rest of us. Some of us react negatively when our personal space gets invaded, no matter who it is. If my favorite athlete did the same thing I'd have the same reaction.

Again, I realize I'm in the minority here, but no one will change my opinion.

The kid got enjoyment and has a tale to tell to his future kids and grandkids of LeBron James eating one of his fries and gave him a high five during a game.

I swear, people will complain about anything. Get over yourselves. The kid didn't have a problem with it, why should anyone else? Let me ask you this, if that kid got to choose between a few fries or a story to tell the rest of his life, which one do you think he would choose? I mean seriously. If you arent Lebron, the kid, or the kids family, then this does not affect you. Go find something else to complain about.

PS....I am not a Lebron supporter either.
