Hate winning? Philidelphia has a good team. So that staement makes no sense. They got just as far as the Yankees did the last two years. And they won a World Series three years ago.

And not to rain on any parades but three years from now, that's going to be a hell of an old and expensive team.

So if the Phillies do sign him, they'll have dealt him for three middling prospects in order to save cash, signed Blanton to an extension, will now dump Blanton to afford Lee, and surrender a 1st round pick to sign him. All while losing out on a (great) year of his services. What a weird route.

The silly thing about that deal is that they had a totla breakdown in communication. My uncle talked to hi after the trade and Lee told him he was shocked. Apparantly he was willing to take less to stay. He never intended on leaving Phili and tey turned around and traded him.

Lee told thd phills he would not negotiate until his current contract was up. He wanted to test the free agent waters. The phills sounded like they didnt want to give him the money he wanted. This was after CC signed that deal. Automatically you assumed he wanted as much and more
