The list of players who have been shopped in trade proposals over the last 24 hours includes some well-known veterans, former first-round picks, and almost everyone in Oakland.

After talking to several coaches and general managers, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com has compiled a list of players who were shopped, and it includes some names you'd expect and some you might not.

Glazer reports that the Cowboys have made defensive end Marcus Spears, linebacker Bobby Carpenter and wide receivers Sam Hurd and Patrick Crayton available, the Jaguars talked to a few teams about defensive tackle John Henderson, the Saints were offering offensive tackle Jamaal Brown and the Titans are shopping running back LenDale White.

And, Glazer says, the Raiders let other teams know that nearly anyone on their roster is available, a message that the Raiders pass along every year.

Carpenter has gotten better every year so I hope the Cowboys would get something decent (not great) in return.

The latest rumor making the rounds on the third day of the NFL draft centers on Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman, and since we've heard from readers who want to know whether San Diego will trade Merriman to New Orleans, we're exploring the matter.

According to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the rumor that Merriman will be a Saint is false.

"No truth to them," Duncan tweeted. "Just another bad rumor."

Chris Mortensen of ESPN had previously tweeted that he had heard Merriman could be on the block, something that ESPN's Chris Berman had apparently suggested on the air.

Mortensen has mentioned that Merriman could be a sleeper candidate to get dealt, and he raised the possibility of the Saints as a team that would make sense for Merriman. But Merriman would need to sign his restricted free agent tender before he could be traded, and Mortensen was not reporting that a trade was going to happen -- merely that it could happen.

If Duncan is correct, a trade isn't going to happen, at least not one involving the Saints. So we're happy to clear the air for the readers who were wondering, even at the risk of being called rumor mongers ourselves.

To me, the Jets trading Leon Washington for basically a 5th Round pick was an Absolute steal for the SeaHawks and LenDale will help at the goal-line.

Wanna know whats sad? The Raiders already have paid Jamarcus 36 million and he still has 3 million in guaranteed money owed to him. If Jamarcus makes the team this year, he will be payed another 9.5 million, regardless if he plays or sits on the bench.

With his salary, no team is gonna take him. Send him to the CFL

I saw on either ESPN or NFLN earlier today that he is supposed to be flat out cut, and it will save the Raiders 6.3m in cap.
