--For those that think UNC/DUKE is the best rivalry in college hoops, think again. ESPN wants you to think that is the case but couldn't be further from the truth. UofL/UK play only once a year. As opposed to 2-3 times for UNC/DUKE. On that day, the state of KY basically shuts down. For the team that loses, the fans will have to endure being viciously belittled and harrassed unmercefully for an entire year. With UNC/DUKE the losing team can go home and say, "Oh well. We will get them in a couple weeks."
For UofL/UK to meet in the Final Four is possibly the greatest/worst thing that could happen for UK fans. If they win, then everything is great. That is what is supposed to happen. UofL fans understand that our team has exceeded anyones expectations and are extremely proud of our team. If UK loses, they will never be able to hear the end of it. It is bragging rights for years to come as UofL is playing the role of David. If UK falls, there will be divorces filed, domestic violence, friends lost, lovers lost, jobs lost, children beaten, dogs kicked, houses burned, buildings burned, businesses looted, people jumping from bridges, thousands of prescriptions for prozac will be written, and more bourbon consumed in one day than is in an entire year!
So realize, this is the biggest game in the history of the UofL/UK rivalry. And will be talked about for years to come. Just like the original Dream Game of 1983.
UNC/DUKE wish they had a rivalry as important/intense as ours. If Dick Vitale had two good eyes he would see that our rivalry is miles ahead of any other college basketball rivalry.

I'm not a Louisville hater, but I have a bandwagon friend. He's usually pro-Kentucky; this year is he pro-Louisville and "hates" Kentucky. Just for him, I hope Kentucky wipes the floor with Louisville.

He's doesn't live in the Lexington/Louisville area, so it's not as bad here (south-central KY). Plenty more Cats fans here than Cards fans, though.

Agreed. I know a few people who claim they like both teams but I just don't see that as a possibility. I love the Cards and Coach Pitino, and I absolutely LOATHE the Cayuts and the Squid. Every time they take the floor I hope they lose by 50.

I agree with a post above that stated that basically all the pressure is on UK. The Cards have nothing to lose really, they are the underdogs and are expected to lose. If they pull the upset I believe I will be left with zero Facebook friends after all the junk I will be talking!! Might have a few family members gunning for me also!

Very disappointed I couldn't land a student ticket to the Final Four, but down town Lexington will still be an awesome place this Saturday...and Monday. I can't wait for the Cats to eat some tweetie birds.
