That is an unfair comparison

Obviously chrome wins, razor's competition is other unlicensed products.

I understand, but most see this as a battle between Chrome and Razor, w/ Tristar being irrelevant in the prospecting side of the hobby.

Razor's main competition is Donruss.

Have we been reading the same board?....ever since razor threw their hat into the ring, it has been all about Razor taking over Topps as the prospecting brand by signing all of the players.

Some people have said that yes. However that isn't true at this time. At the moment Razor just can't challenge the foothold that topps has as far as brand recognition and loyalty. They are simply not in the same league as a card company with topps right now. However I think they can make up ground on donruss, and compete.

Come on Chris, even Brian has been saying about competing with Topps right from the get go. From all the posts and from beefycheddars podcast interviews he has rarely mentioned tristar (or Donruss for that matter) and when he has, mostly its not in reference to them competing with his product its about them trying to use autos of their exclusives. He is always talking about what Topps is doing and how they can be better than them. If they were not trying to compete with Topps then RAZOR would not be signing exclusive deals so Topps cannot sign them.

Being licensed or not should have nothing to do with the overall look and or design skill level of the graphics department.

But no, it isn't even close. There are at least 5 people on these boards who could design a nicer looking card.

HAHA! I know.

I have the blue version too that I was going to post initially, but I guess I don't have a scan of it. It's much cooler looking, but I made due with what i had. I didnt realize the centering of that card was so horrible. Not that the entire card isn't horrible, lol!

I preferred the blues and greens better. I actually loved that 05 Finest set.
Those Blue and Green Xfractors were really nice cards.

I think they were some of the nicest parallels.

I'm sorry, but those Razor autos look just like TriStar auto cards that I have seen... and they look like sticker autographs. It's a big design failure... you can do better than that Razor.

Yes, everything is in the design. If you make a minor league looking product, people will treat it like that. Plus, I think a more "simple" design always go a long way.

I like an actual photo of the player you can see on the card and an auto that does not look trapped. An on-card auto is not supposed to look like a sticker imo.

I think the average BC break for almost 1/2 the price will bee a lot better. If they bring the auto list down to 25 your average break will be a very good prospect and a very good shot at a low #d auto that has a strong hobby following and actually means something to collectors. I may be wrong but I think once prices settle the average Razor break will contain a lot of $2 autos will only a handful of the #1 picks commanding much above $20.

I don't know why people are dogging the Razor design. I think the design looks great, first product or not. I really don't card if a card is horizontal or vertical, the card looks sick. The only thing I hope they do in the next release is come out with a new technology surface (I wish that for all companies).
