So I went by a card shop up in Chippewa Falls today. I wasn't sure he was still open, but he is . A really cluttered, unorganized place, filled with cards with the same prices as back in 1999 or whatever, but he had odd bits of packs of cards, (i.e. 1996 Collector's Choice), lots of oddball football and basketball stuff, waaaay too much Magic and non-sports Gaming cards. So I picked out a few packs of stuff to amuse myself (and you too). Here we go...

packs.jpg

For the record,
1 pk 1981 Topps
1 pk 1999 Topps Chrome Series 2
2 pks 1992 Bowman Football (he had a lot of this--I know, if only it was baseball)
4 pks 2000 Topps Chrome Series 2
7 pks 2003 Topps Galelry
3 pks 2005 Donruss Hobby

Shall I go chronologically, or do whatever? :D

Not going to list by packs, but will list the thick foil cards, and notable singles.

Foils: Brian Giles, Raul Ibanez, Paul Konerko, Eric Karros, Kaz Ishii, Pat Burrell, Chipper Jones.
Good Singles: Blalock, Mattingly, Mientkiewicz (well, for me he's good), Damon, Rolen, Palmiero, Tino Martinez, Fred McGriff, Ben Francisco First Year, Mike Schmidt.

and...$5 in Baseball Bucks (Willie Mays)

Pk. 2: Rod Woodson, Rich Gannon, Herschel Walker, Sterling Sharpe, Sam Mills foil--wow, that would have been a great pack in 1992!

Re: Let's go retro--oddball packs lot opening.

I actually have an unfinished set of 05 Donruss somewhere in the basement, so I'll check my singles out to see if I actually need any of these. Listing only inserts.

Pk. 1: David Aardsma Rated Rookie Press Proof #195/200
Pk. 2: Jeromy Burnitz Power Alley #754/2500
Pk. 3: Ryan Wing 2004-style The Rookies

So not much to get excited about overall, but there were othere things there--sealed boxes and the like--that I may go back for someday.

How about some 19 year old gum?

Nice enough to grade, really. Refractors in 1999 & 2000 were 1:12, refractors of the inserts were crazy, odd-wise (1:160, 1:144, 1:627)

Where exactly is this place? You know I know Chip'wa like the back of my hand. I've always "heard" there was a shop in that town some where, but Google was never a help.

So small, you'd almost miss it. He's actually listed as an HTA store via Topps.com. He had 2010 Jumbos, but I dodn't ask what he wanted for them.
