Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels plus one of the scariest lineups i have seen in a long time. They are going to be tuff. Ill be rooting against them but i think now it's hard to see someone else besides them coming out of the NL.

Easy now lets see them tear through Lincecum and Cain, Kershaw and Billingsley and Carpenter and Wainwright before we anoint them... Also I'd like to see Hamels get his ERA down...

The Phillies have quite a rotation. Add that to the best offense in baseball and they have to be the front runner going into October.

As long as the injury bug stays away I don't see how they can lose.

Brandon Webb was quoted as saying they may have a better lineup than the All-Star team.

With the Lee addition, now I think the biggest weakness is the back of the bullpen. Madsen and Lidge have been beaten up alot lately.

How about saying no they will not. There are other teams

The Phillies are a great team, but have also been wildly inconsistent this year as well. How else do you explain them getting swept by my lowly Orioles this year at home? Gun to my head....the Dodgers are more fundamentally sound and will ultimately win out. I predict a Dodgers-Tigers WS.

I don't see the Dodgers getting by STL, we just saw what the Cardinals can do to them in a 4-game series. I see the Phillies and the Cards battling it out to face the Yankees in the WS. Both Philly and STL have similar lineups and their rotations stack up well. Carp - Hamels and Waino - Lee would be some great TV.

I am feeling a St. Louis vs Boston World Series. I like the Cards 1-3 much better than the Phils'.

My dream matchup has always been Cardinals vs Yankees.

And damn I was soooooooooo close in 2004.

Just imagine how good the Cardinals COULD be if Glaus came back healthy.

Won't happen, but damn that would be a sick lineup top to bottom. And the bench would be insanse too.

Yep, pretty much the exact same sentiment almost everyone I heard talk about the series between LA and the Phils last year.

The Phillies and Dodgers both scare me in the playoffs.

But first, the Cardinals have to (and will) put the rest of these bums in the NL Central in their rearview mirror.

Just like 2006, the Cardinals having to battle to the end for the Central title will only help them going into the playoffs.

Last thing the Dodgers or Phillies want to see is an on fire St. Louis.

lidge and madson have to be consistent for us. lidge has to get his head on. thank god we got myers coming back so he can pretty much back up lidge if he got his head case games going on. we got chan ho park who look unbelievable since moving to the pen. We have a very good chance of repeating but we just got to have some things going for us come playoff time. Jimmy needs to keep hitting and getting on base also bullpen.
