I love the Joel Zumaya mention.

He is/was a guy with an absurd arm, a good character and crazy injuries. To me, he is the baseball equivalent of Bob Sanders in football. Ton of potential, showed amazing glimpses, but the body just can't hold up.

The fact that this was your 8,888th post and it wasn't full of zany craziness disappoints me! (two z's in consecutive words - mad props for me)

On a serious note, whatever happened to Wes Swackhamer? He was a Cardinals prospect, then fell off the face of the Earth. I've tried looking him up to see what he is doing now to no luck. I just get his college info.

As for what happened, all I know is he retired in 06. I can't find out why he did, but he doesn't appear to be bouncing around any Indy leagues or anything.
