Letter I wrote to Jeff Weaver in 2007. I love me.

Alright, the first thing people will say is that I write like a 5 year old. Yes, I have terrible hand writing, I know this, haha. I scanned this before I sent it. I wrote it on lined paper, but the lines didn't show up on the scan.

I was telling my fiance' last night about the letter I wrote to Jeff Weaver in 2007 after he went to Seattle the season after the Cardinals won the World Series, and I had to dig it up so I could show her. So I thought I'd post it here again for old times sake.

I hate Jeff Weaver so much.

WHY exactly I was watching a Cubs vs Mariners interleague game featuring Jason Marquis vs Jeff Weaver, I don't know. I know I was drinking though.

And yes, I really did send this. I didn't get a reply though.

Stopped reading after the first page. I don't think you have a 5 year old's hand writing. I think you have a 14 year old's hand writing, but the bubble you use at the bottom of the exclamation point would suggest it being a female 14 year old. I can't imagine someone out of their young teens writing a letter like that to a player, though.

I do understand, however, your frustration.

Edit: Went back and read the rest since I didn't want to seem like some inconsiderate jerk. I was "meh" until I got to where you called him out on his looks.

Jeff Weaver is a good friend of mine and I can imagine him laughing at all the time you put into that letter and said nothing really clever. Good job. I'm gonna ask him if he remembers reading this...I'll bet he never opened it.

That letter is a classic

I have an Ankiel/Kerry Wood card like the one in your signature Richard. It's a dual bat card. I guess it's from 2001? Which is neat because they were both pitchers at the time. You know, real pitchers, who bat, and play the entire game of baseball. Not just half.

It is on a beach. I'm sure he could bring his surfboard and dope.

Funny thing it is from 2001 and is a retail pull from a blaster. The card was valued at 40 bucks a few years back. I think the print run on it was 50 or less. But they are not serialized though.

I've never looked into the Ank/Wood card. Just thought it was cool because it was a pitcher dual bat card.

I bet he probably opened it, saw it was WAR AND PEACE and probably tossed it. I can't imagine Jeff would have enough time to read a novel unless he was bored. If I were the athlete, I'd want it to be a short autograph request with "Please" and "Thank You" somewhere in the letter with a SASE provided and sign the auto.
