I'm sorry, I was too busy having a career and running my business to worry about whether Beckett gets cool cards or not.

How's the golf management business treating you?

I guess reading it back it did come across as a little pompous and arrogant......my point was I can't see why someone would get so upset about baseball cards when other things require much more attention and focus. That could be job, family, whatever, but baseball cards? A hobby? I don't know I just view baseball as a way to get away from the real world!

As for the management company, it's going great! I will take being busy over being bored any day of the week so I will never complain.

And to those who think what I said was B.S.....please read above, sorry for coming across as arrogant, but I am not sure how many people here haven't had a day off from work since December 1st except for Christmas day so it takes away from my time a little. If that isn't busy enough I apologize.

Here's the answer to his question why no one cares, because we all have more important things to worry about than what Beckett pulls out of a box. If you let something like this bother you then I can only imagine what other little pity things bother you.

This is a BASEBALL CARD FORUM. Why are you even here at ALL if you don't care about baseball cards and all the positive and negative aspects of the hobby??? This affects people differently, and that's perfectly acceptable.

I understand what you're saying. Like you mentioned, it was just the way you came across saying it.

What happens to the 1/1 cards that Beckett pulls? Do they end up being sold on Ebay? If so, by who?

So the manufactures give Beckett the boxes for free then Beckett turns around and sells the best cards out of every issue on Ebay - money in their pocket - while leaving the release striped of the best inserts?

Just so you know...cause it does not seem you do...some people buy new products by the case. Now you tell me...wouldn't you feel cheated if you spent several grand on a preorder for a hot new product with some mega badass pulls you wanted a chance at (hence your spending several grand) and all of a sudden before you cards came the guys on beckett ended up pulling at least one or two or maybe more of the biggest pulls from that product?

I think your point is that we have more important things to worry about rather than worry about baseball cards. If thats how you feel thats fair enough but I also think you would do well to remember there are people who spend a lot of money on this hobby.I am very sure it would piss them off badly. It sounds(I am not sure because I do not know you) like you do not personally bust a lot of high end wax.

I am not sure how it goes but I wouldn't doubt it.Not at all. But hey...this world is full of plenty of people who love to cut their nose off to spite their face.

Wow! This is pretty disturbing. Disturbing that the manufactures and Beckett get together and do this and disturbing that we the consumer continue to let them get away with it.

Well as stated before...its all for the advertising. They think all collectors or at least most of them are going to see the box break and then get their wallets out and go out and snatch up as much as they can afford all while believing they will get a mega pull.Anyone who has been in this game for a decent length of time knows better. But its the people who do not that are the ones they are targeting. Plus they know people wills till bust high end wax just to scavenge what beckett hasn't pulled.I mean...don't get me wrong...they don't always pull the most coveted card in the set but they usually pull one of them or close to it.And it is a big letdown if you bought a good amount of it hoping for a small chance at a pull like that.

I understand the aspect of the advertizing angle. But to hand sort boxes, send them to Beckett and then allow them to profit off of these cards is beyond wrong. Why can't Beckett just do web interviews with a rep from said manufacture and talk the product up? Busting a box "live" is great entertainment and all but when you subtract the heart out of the release what do you have?

Actually I agree.I actually think just seeing pics of the hits you can pull would serve them better. There would be nothing like seeing a picture of a big hit in the magazine only to pull that exact same card in your shop.

But as usual...they go about it all wrong of course.Oh well.I guess its the companies fault just as much as anyone's.
