Do you happen to have a link to that? TheTNT just said that there is no way that Seattle made an offer.
Mariners Reportedly Make Offer to Fielder, Drama Continues: A Fan’s Outlook

It looks like the Seattle Mariners have made an offer to acquire free agent first baseman Prince Fielder. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports took to his Twitter account to state that the Mariners have either made an official offer or told Fielder the amount of money that they would pay for his services. It has really created a storm of interest surrounding the situation, possibly signaling the first time that an official salary number gets attached to Fielder.
It's very difficult to figure out if Heyman knows what he is talking about, especially because he is an East Coast writer. He is also another writer that strongly mentions the interest by Seattle but simultaneously talks about how he doesn't believe that the team has a strong shot at acquiring Fielder due to financial constraints and location of Safeco Field. He also suggests that about 12 teams could have an interest in acquiring Fielder at this point, including the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles now.
So basically, the new information on the Fielder front is that many teams have interest in signing him but that he isn't ready to commit to a new team just yet. That's not exactly mind-blowing information in the scheme of things, but at the same time, it is definitely a positive sign that the Mariners have reportedly extended an offer to Fielder. Maybe it was just an attempt to test the waters, maybe it's a way to gauge how much his contract is going to cost, or maybe it is a way to open the door to some serious negotiations.
At this point, it's good news that the Mariners are still getting linked to Fielder, continuing the hope that the franchise is willing to open up the checkbook and bring in the best free agent left on the open market. The team definitely needs an offensive player of Fielder's caliber and he could completely change the atmosphere in Seattle by signing a long-term deal. Not only could Fielder bring the attention a national spotlight with him, but he could become the best player that the team has had take the field in a while. The Mariners certainly need to do something soon, especially because of how well it could help ticket sales and spur interest in the team.
