i messaged the guy asking if the auction price was a joke, as hes charging almost full book value for these guys. I got this message back.

"Well for one if you weren't such a idot you would have read the entire listing and noticed that the price I set was less than full book value, which by the way alot of collectors pay full book value, and about 18 to 118 cards that are included which if you want to put value on range from about $175 to around $200+. Not to mention the fact that if you are a collector you would see the real potential for a lot like this. So you know if I wanted to sell these at full value I would have put $760.00 on the buy it now and no best offer option. Have a great day and remember to keep you stupidity to yourself.
Thanks."

i told him he could drop his buy it now/best offer to 200 and dont think he would sniff an offer.

You're right definitely typical doofus who wants too much for their stuff.

kobe- people who do auctions like that are just preying on the weak, so i have no respect for auctions like that. The seller knows that stuff would never go for close to that amount and hes just trying to take advantage of people, so i dont see any harm in having some fun with him.

I think it was pretty rude. I dont see the point in bothering a seller just to tell him you dont like his price. I don't think you would walk into a card store and tell the owner that his prices are a joke or go to target and tell the manager that walmart's prices are better.

I would. They'll price match for you, and I'd rather give my money to Target if I can get the same price at both locations. I see what you mean though, and pretty much agree.

As a side note to the OP - that was very rude imo. Cardboard is only worth what each side agrees on. If there's no agreement or second party, then it's worth what the holder says. I do agree that is a high price, but I respect his right as a seller to put the price tag on his stuff.

Just as it is a right for someone to ask whatever price they want for cards, it is someone's right to question that price if they want to, no?
