I'm sure pretty much everyone here discarded the puzzle pieces when they bought Donruss and Leaf packs from 1982-92. The artwork though is really nice and some of those completed puzzles are rather attractive and come in many forms. The regular large wax pack form, mini puzzles the size of a regular card, poster versions and more. Anyways, my favorites were the 1986 Hank Aaron puzzle and the 1987 Roberto Clemente one with the Puerto Rican flag. So I'm curious if anyone else liked them enough to have a favorite design.

don't know if i'd say i have a favorite because i actually liked most all of them ...in fact , i have a shoe box filled with complete or nearly complete puzzles in 25 and 35 count snap cases plus another 3200-count box filled with extra pieces.....i used to put one of each puzzle together in a big photo album which looked nice but ideally i'd like to put them together and then clear coat and frame them to make better display items.....

Mantle is my favorite, of course. But the Willie Stargell that I put together, glued on cardboard and had him sign is VERY special.

Here is the Stargell. I bought a box of Donruss that had just came out at a card show where he was signing. I then took the puzzle home and put it together. When he signed it he said it was the first time that he had seen it.

I think the only one I actually put together is Cobb and it is still in a cheap frame with the card from the set. I like the earlier ones, like Cobb and Ruth, but I think my favorite would have to be Snider, just because it features a Dodger player.

In remember Musial, Aaron, Stargell and Spahn.

i need to track these down again. My 5 year old son loves putting puzzles together and it would be cool to see him do these.
