If you go score make sure it says autograph somewhere on the back, the forgers are now starting to sign the base version.

I myself are looking for a Mickey Mantle baseball as well. With a TON of Mantle forgeries on the market (many authenticated by PSA & JSA) I would only trust a Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA) auto baseball. At least they are a reputable name and he signed the baseballs in front of them. Do not buy a UDA ball that they authenticated after the fact. I see alot of UDA balls popping up. They are trying to get in to the authenticating business. I just picked up a UDA Ted Williams ball. I also have a UDA Koufax ball. For the "big" names I would only go with UDA so I can rest easy.
If you decide to bid on a UDA Mantle ball on the bay PM so we dont bid against each other!![]()

I had three Mantle auto baseballs. I purchased these right before his death. Last year, I decided to have them authenticated at a show by JSA. One of the three balls came back as "not authentic". The other two were certified as authentic. After looking at them carefully with the show rep, he pointed out some VERY minor discrepancies that forced him to say it wasn't real.
Now, lets add in the fact that UD had that issue selling fake autos featured Bryant Gumbel's show.....and I would say stay away from UD.

I think your stories are crossed up as far as I know only psa/jsa where discussed in the hbo thing not upper deck. And I can tell you this psa has let so many mantle forgeries through its sickening. IF YOU MUST go 3rd party go jsa.
