Hi Guys,
I have a 2008 Allen & Ginter Black Border set that I am going to sell.

I am wondering if you would think that selling the set as a whole would generate more money than selling it by the team set?

I was thinking of selling it off by teams and then selling the historical figures as a lot, the monuments as a lot and the non-baseball sportscards as a lot.

What do you guys think would lead to the best overall sales price?

I don't want to sell individual cards though - it's too much to list.

Thanks!
Bill

Bill...I would put up the entire set (inserts, etc...) on eBay with a BIN with a "Best Offer" option for 10 days.

This will give the set some fairly cheap publicity and maybe a winning bid.

Then, depending on the interest, eBay messages, etc...you should have a pretty good idea of how to sell it.

Thanks for the thoughts. Ideally, I'd like to get $500-550 for it. I was thinking that I can get $9.99 for the worst teams and perhaps $20-25 for the better ones and thought maybe I could get to $500-550ish that way.

I've tried a couple times to sell the complete set. I got an offer of $650 about 5 months ago, but I wanted more at the time. Bummer. Now I'd be happy to get the $550.

I think I saw one about a month or so ago that was listed for either a $499 or $599 starting bid (I can't remember) and he didn't get any bites.
