Are all of the players rare cards or are only certain ones SP?

The cards from Series 2 are very hard to find; while the Series 1 and Update set were issued as 3-packs inside WM blasters, the Series 2 set was only inserted in packs (someone please correct me if my facts are off).

I collected all of those Target Walmart sets back then - I never saw a Series 2 card - not in boxes or packs - I've picked up a couple of cheap ones when I did see them, but only 2 or 3 - I have the remaining cards - to make it better the set is numbered to 54 and they were random by series - so you have to find the check list for the series 2 cards.

The Target Back to School sets are also hard to find - I have the set, but no extras.

yeah, i noticed this about 6 months ago:
http://www.freedomcardboard.com/for...ds-going-nuts.html?highlight=2006+mart+series
I recently pulled a few of these out of those 20 assorted pack boxes (mainly available at wal-mart) everybody was going nuts for. I got $100 for my first gary carter and around $70 for the 2nd. The yaz sold pretty well too if i recall. The only one that really doesnt seem to sell for much is the Mantle which seems to defy all logic (I guess Mantle is more likely to be listed by somebody digging through their random boxes of junk so more have actually surfaced so the demand isn't quite as high - that's about the only thing that makes sense to me).

Yes, that's exactly where I read about this before. A few months back I picked up a few on COMC that I ended up flipping for what I thought was decent money ($12 or so for a Clemente, $8 for a Cabrera, both of which I got for maybe $3), if I was really thinking I would have kept them (now I'm kicking myself a bit). I did just grab that Yaz on COMC for $2.50, so that was a score.

Is there a way to easily identify these cards? Thanks in advance.

No, which really sucks! Topps didn't number them sequentially by series, the S1, S2 and UPD are all interspersed within the 54 card set. The S2 cards are:

3 Yogi Berra 1954
6 Mickey Mantle 1957
7 Alex Rodriguez 1958
9 Gary Carter 1960
10 Roy Oswalt 1961
14 Johan Santana 1965
15 Roberto Clemente 1966
16 Carl Yastrzemski 1967
21 Chipper Jones 1972
25 Alfonso Soriano 1976
31 Albert Pujols 1982
32 Cal Ripken 1983
36 Jose Reyes 1953
38 Derrek Lee 1956
39 Miguel Cabrera 1973
42 Barry Bonds 1974
44 Livan Hernandez 1975
45 Derek Jeter 1977

The Chipper, Yogi, and Livan were never submitted to COMC, so no scans. The Yaz is mine, and the Cabrera and Clemente were mine (bought and flipped for a few bucks, I'd hate to see how much they'd go for now!)
