An icon is now part of the past. Wonder how long until we start seeing Wilson show up on everything LS?

At least the workers are being kept and from what I'm hearing the USW had a sucessorship clause in their labor agreement. H&B must have told the USW they were shopping LS around.

At least Louisville Slugger will become a stand-alone brand, according to the article.

Used to live outside Lexington. Always took friends and family to this place. A really cool tour and interesting to see how bats are made.

I used to live in Lexington, and it was a great city. Loved going to Louisville to the museum. If anyone on the board ever gets the chance to go, they really should.

I doubt it will happen. Wilson would be stupid to throw away the history, recognition and brand-value of the "Louisville Slugger" name.

What I do have a problem with is that the quality likely is to go down since it's not the original prideful owners running the business. I've noticed that in local restaurants where the owner has sold the restaurant to someone else and the food quality, customer service and value for the money has gone downhill.
