In a startling development, a leading baseball bat manufacturer has announced that several new species of ash, maple, and hickory trees have been identified as being perfect specimens with superior traits, thus making them worthy additions to their upcoming line of bats.
Unfortunately, there is a current mass shortage of these trees. A company spokesperson has announced a handsome reward for the location and subsequent harvesting of one of each of these species. The spokesperson is calling upon any/all motivated lumberjacks to claim one species of tree and in an unusual twist, play a game of bingo by following 2014 Major League baseball boxscores as the primary means of harvesting (read: chopping) the tree.
The first three lumberjacks to fell their assigned tree will win a wood related prize of one of 36 recognizable baseball stars of the past.
To participate, simply copy/paste the list of most wanted trees in your thread and claim any tree you would like. Details to follow well before Opening Day 2014.
NOTE: I am currently working to reunite the HOF poster from last fall to it's rightful owner. Hopefully, this will minimize any concern you may have with me as host.
