Just got this in the mail the other day. I probably overpaid by a bit, but I'm stoked to finally have it in hand.
T205BuybackBealsBecker.jpg

It goes well with it's cousin, an inappropriately titled buyback (it's actually a T207, not a T206)
T206BealsBeckerBuyback.jpg

And it's other cousin, the real T206...

And just for the sake of showing the collection, here's the Sweet Caporal pin...

Thanks for looking! Any and all comments are appreciated. :)

Very nice little collection. What's the story behind collecting Becker?
Not much of a story, really. I pulled the T206 buyback out of 4 loose packs at a flea market. The thrill of such a big pull (odds-wise, not $$$-wise) led me to look up his stats/info online. He was an average player, with a couple of good seasons. I thought it might be fun to see what else he had out there and, thus, a collection was born. He only has a handful of cards (I believe I'm missing only the Cracker Jack and Coglan Chip cards) and they're all relatively inexpensive. Plus, I think it's pretty cool having two different buybacks of the same player. :)

Great little collection, thanks for sharing it. I love the T206 pose - imagine trying to catch anything with the gloves of that period! And two buybacks of same player is very cool.

I don't think the T207 card is "inappropriately titled." The card frame just designates the product those cards came in - Topps 206 - released in 2002. There were both T206 and T207 buybacks in that product, but the frame around them said Topps 206 not in reference to the card inside, but to the 2002 product. Make sense?

Sure was exciting pulling one of those buybacks back then! I got this one. Now your post is making me curious about how many other cards he had.

Thanks for the kind words. I laugh when I see the old-time gloves, too.

Clear as mud! Thanks for clearing it up. j/k...I never knew they used T207's in that product. I thought it was just a mistake. I wonder if this means they put a T206 Becker in a buyback also???

It's cool how something like this sparked my interest in a player who otherwise would have remained unknown to me (much like 99% of the players from his era). Nice to see it's having the same effect on someone else. :)
