[Mailday!] Diamond King Recollection Auto 1991 Edition!

Couple of big pick-ups. No pics on eBay, but cross-referenced the numbering to my checklist (which I've finally managed to do!). The numbering and years indicated that they should be on DKs so I contact the guy and ask how much he wants for the pair. I make what I consider a "fair" offer for the both of us, and, after confirming they were DK autos, he agrees.

So, for $50 dlvd (which is close to what I believe they would have hit at auction.. maybe less due to how rarely they pop up)... I got both of these:

#'d to 23

Notice anything funny? Yeap, the front is devoid of the Recollection stamp, but the stamping on the back is dead on. I've only seen it one other time, and I believe it lacked a front stamp, too.


Next... one of my NEW favorites (though all of them are my favorites):

#'d to 15

Very happy about that one. Have also only seen it one other time, and that was in the photobucket of a fellow board member. Ahh so the collection grows, and a smile is on my face.

This one also lacks the front stamping

Maybe they just didn't like stamping over the image of Dykstra.

Edit: yeah did a quick search.. none of his reco autos have the stamp on the front.

No problem. I love the recollection DK autos. It brings back memories of when you collected cards because they looked cool. I bought a box of '04 Timelines hoping to pull one but I didn't get anything good.

Yeah, I collect the 80's - 91 DKs simply for the fact that I love the way they look. They are really classic looking cards, and I'll NEVER let them go.

2002 - 2005 Diamond Kings
2004 Timelines
2005 Donruss Champions

Maybe a couple of more. Almost all Donruss products between 2001 and 2005 had Recollection Collection autos, but the DK versions were only in a few of them.
