Since I went to Cuba I have started a new project of collecting modern players and cards.
The plan next year is to go back to Cuba and make the rounds getting in person autos at some of the games.
Today I got in 3 fulls sets of the 1994 Selectiva Series directly from the guy who worked with the Cuban baseball federation to produce the sets.
I only scanned cards of guys that people would recognize.
Oddly enough El Duque's true birthdate is revealed on the card.
I confirmed with the guy that the Cuban Baseball Fed. were the ones who provided all relevant data to include on the stats so maybe his birth date controversy could have been solved by simply looking on the back of a baseball card!!!!
Then I have some Konami cards produced for the 2009 WBC:
I am also waiting on a Jose Contreras SP FW Auto RC and a Livan Hernandez 1998 SP Authentic Auto!
Eventually will be picking up some Luis Tiant autographs as well!
Unrelated I got in this Brett Lawrie Throwbacks Refractor /99
