what no one had Laporta hitting .400 and winning the MVP?

I guess Heyward is the new Laporta?

1. Howie Kendrick will FINALLY be an all-star. Hits .330+ for the season w/ production & fully healthy.

2. Mike Stanton gets to Forida and hits 20+ HR this season...... with over 5x as many K's.

3. Jason Heyward becomes a demigod in ATL, gives people a glimpse of what a Griffey Jr./Pujols love child would look like.

4. Wade Davis does NOT win the Cy Young. Nuff Said.

5. Sean Rodriguez becomes the next Ben Zobrist in TB.

AL MVP Curtis Granderson .328 32 100 55+sb
AL CY John Lackey 20-6 3.03

These are the only 2 that really seemed out of place.

I dont think Granderson will hit much over .300, probably around .290, and possibly close to 35 steals....his career high is 26.

Lackey could win 20, but it will also be taken into consideration he is on a better team, and I think that will hurt him in the voting.

Yeah, I'd be shocked if Granderson stole that many bases. It's not so much he doesn't have the speed. He just doesn't run THAT much.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him hit 40 HRs though. Just based off of the difference in park dimensions between Yankee Stadium and Comerica Park, last year he would have hit 37 HRs if he played for the Yankees. So it's not totally unrealistic to think he could hit 40.

W.S. Mariners over Phillies :D

AL MVP Curtis Granderson .328 32 100 55+sb

More likely line for CG: .265 25 80 and 20 sbs

Most guys who hit ~.250 the year before don't tend to jump to batting title numbers while maintaining power.

There are exceptions to the rule, however. Adrian Beltre did it in 2004. Of course, he was in a contract year and somehow put on about 30 pounds of muscle in the offseason "magically". Then he went to Seattle where his body and his numbers shrunk dramatically.

Great to look back at these type of posts and see how many of us were duped into thinking the Mariners would be great this year ( didnt give realistic predictions, just jokingly re stated what Baseball Tonight predicted, but I also thought the Mariners were going to win it)

And how NO ONE saw the Reds taking Central, all Cards all the time.

Many gave in to both Sox teams and also took the Rangers and Twins.

No shock most predicted Yanks and Phillies would get into the post season, but many, myself included, thought the Yanks were going to win the division.

Would have been nice for the Mets to have 100 wins.

My sole prediction is that the Florida Marlins play at least one game wearing snorkels and cleated flippers just to get fans to come watch.
Sadly my prediction didn't come through.
