The St. Louis Cardinals win the Central Division.

That's about as bold as I can get, because I think they have no chance in Hell.

well I missed out on the 1st go-around so I will give a little playoff hint-

teams with the best records in both leagues will miss out on the WS

I'll fess up. My 2 preseason favorites for MLPOY were Moustakas and Alvarez. I wish I could find a link to the poll I conducted in the spring.

A couple of my customers and I did this before the season started.
Since I love Mauer, we wrote down how many HRs we thought he was going to hit. All of us said about 10 or so while one customer said 21. We thought he was nuts.

None of us got even close wth our ROY predictions although one guy said McCutchen "as a longshot"

BOY WAS I WRONG! The Cardinals have really surprised me this season. I really have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote that. Today though, I am just thinking I would like to hand Shawn Merriman a medal.

John Smoltz has a 5-0 September.

Miguel Cabrera has 150 RBI.

Cain and Lincecum combine to strike out 500 batters.

Smoltz might, it just won't be for the Sox.

Cabrera only needs 64 RBI for September for this to happen.

They have under 400 combined - and a few people questioned this as bold, even though they combined around 450 last year.

So, I was 0-3. But I was thinking about this thread last week, thanks for bringing it back. It was a fun read.

Khalil Greene would have his best year ever with the Cardinals.

1) Pirates will make the playoffs.

2) Zack Greinke will win the Cy Young (& the Royals will go deep into the playoffs).

3) Tim Licecum AND David Price will both suffer season ending injuries (one will need TJ surgery...Guess which?)

4) Vlad Guerrero & Griffey Jr. are "outed" for steroid use (even though I really like them both, I'm going "bold"...

5) Josh Hamilton is traded later in the year to the Yankees for thier playoff run (since J.Hamilton shows his arse & falls off the wagon, the Rangers eventually are tired of putting up with the "circus" & off the field "shenanigans" he will begin to cause).

6) A.Pujols bounces back this year with a very strong statistical showing until the Cardinals are mathmatically eliminated from the playoff race, he then "shuts it down" & opts for surgery.

7) A "no-namer" will win ROY (he's not a full unknown but he will be one of those player's that starts out the season as a "longshot" to even be a starter on a club.

8) Wieters will eventually get the call only to struggle mightily (he'll be a huge letdown in the MLB "this" year).

9) Jesus Montero will be playing in the MLB by the end of the year & will become a permanent fixture for the Yankees.....at First Base!

10) Eric Hosmer will be Milb POY!

I tried to stay away from being predictable with "homer" pick's, & I tried to keep all of the bold prediction's somewhat realistic (every thing I wrote above "could" happen). this was fun, lets see some more! :D[/quote

Looking back this was interesting to reread, this post had some real hits and misses.
But everyone has the flops ( Pirates) lol... the weiters and greinke picks were bold

Blake Hawksworth...10-1 w/ a sub 3 ERA...leads the STL Cardinals to the WS!!!

So Hawksworth is 4-0 w/ a 2.36 ERA and the Cardinals have a very good shot at making it to the WS.
