Everyone read the descriptions carefully when you are buying on ebay. I fell for it again, where the title does not match what you get. This time it was an upperdeck Vladimir Guerrero "Auto" the title was "VLADIMIR GUERRERO Baseball ANGELS AUTO SIGS Card Hot LE" One, the fact it said hot in the title should have made me stay away. It was a facsimile auto which of course the buyer states in the description, below a bunch of pictures and other info buried so you would have a hard time seeing it. The worst part was that I didn't even win the auction, I got outbid but then he came back and offered it as a second chance without the photo and I fell for it. It only cost me $6 + $3 shipping so I'll live. He offers returns to but only for merchandise and all he sells is junk to keep his feedback up plus I'm out shipping both ways so I'll just eat it. He has 923 feedbacks this month with 15 negative and all the negatives say "read description well" so he knows what he is doing. Oh well as they say the man with the money gets the experience and the man with the experience gets the money. I guess I have a little more experience now. Oh and I forgot it came in an envelope with 44 cents of postage too lol.

Anyway post your ebay horror stories or mistakes they will make me feel better about my stupidity. Thanks,

Mike

Wow I was looking at his other items alot of what he sells is shady. He lists a bunch of the 2006 Albert Pujols Rookie of the week cards as rookie cards and people fall for it. Positive comments of "Woo hoo finally got an albert pujols rookie etc" a few people realised what they got but a lot of people never noticed. Also sells topps basketball archive cards as rookies he's making good money off of this and people just fall for it and leave positive, most of his autions are private though so you can't see many of them

When I got back into collecting I fell for this exact same ploy. Ended up with a Sabathia facsimile auto. Oh well.

I bought an item that said $20 shipping. I paid $20 for the item, plus $20 shipping. I sent the paypal for $40 and the guy comes back and says the description clearly says $30 shipping to the US. I told him I never read it. I just looked at the photo, and the $20 in shipping cost. He said he would not send the item unless I added $10. I told him to refund me. He did, and then I hung a negative feedback on him.

Sorry, gonna be a jerk here and say...

a fool and his money soon part.

Do you're research before you buy something. Those "RC" of Ozzie & Sandberg aren't even the same picture, so it's just a matter of looking at other auctions and saying "wait a minute, that one is different"

Yeah that was a jerky comment, it was an impulse buy for not much money, any time I buy something that isn't something I can "just eat" I research it just fine. I do get stuck every once in awhile by people with no morals who are purposely being shady with their auctions, either with misleading "stock" photo's or misleading titles. And, as the previous post showed I'm not the only one that has been fooled by this guy.
