Tracy got a lot of heat while in Pittsburgh, and some instances rightfully so. Still, he seemed like a nice guy, and I'm glad to see him succeed in Colorado. Like his time in LA, I think he is good at managing a veteran clubhouse and getting the most from players once the right pieces are in place. His time in Pittsburgh with a young and developing team was an absolute disaster though.

And should have gotten a lot more love than he did. I mean really, take a 100-loss team to an above-.500 team!!

I just don't get the Gardenhire votes. He had one less win this year than he did last year. Played in a weaker division.

And Girardi?? Good job in living up to expectations by winning your division and having 100+ wins with that team...like you SHOULD have.

Wak and even Ron Washington deserved more votes than they got. Though I have no issues with Scioscia winning.

I had hoped this would be Gardy's year. You can't compare last year to this year. This year is about coming from behind, staying close, then taking the division title. Weak division or not, the Twins had to play some great ball down the stretch. They lost Morneau for the stretch, had too many pitching injuries, etc.--what manager doesn't?--and Gardy had to make the decisions to win.

I can't argue against Scioscia, he's one of the best. Guess Gardy has to win by 10+ games next year!

At first when I saw the list of Managers I thought it was an "early exit out of the playoffs" award.

Congrats to the both of them!! Tracy really did deserve the award and I'm glad he has emerged back to his old coaching days with the Dodgers!
