Going a step further, how did Matt Cassel look when he stepped in to run the NE offense? He threw for more yards than 3 of Tom's seasons, had a higher rating than 4 of Tom's seasons and had fewer picks than ALL of Tom's seasons running the NE offense. Anyone think that happens with a backup in Indy?

THANK....YOU! ;)

Brady is good but his dominance in the game have come due to the offensive scheme/play put in place by the offensive coordinator's for the NE Patriots....While on the Indianapolis Colts, Peyton Manning IS the offensive coordinator! Brady is good, Peyton is better! :D

A LOT of people are sure linking entire careers to one play. Lost in that play as well was the SPECTACULAR read and jump that Porter made on that play. Did we forget that the Colts were marching down the field at that moment? This is a game of inches and a few left or right decided the outcome of this year's Super Bowl. People are RETARDED if they want to color entire careers based on 1 play. 1 play; that's all the Manning haters are talking about right now.

At the end of his career, he will have all the records. He will most likely have had 1-2 more shots at more rings. If you doubt THAT, you know nothing about football. People who know more about football than any 10 people on this board (read: odds makers), give Indy the BEST odds to win it all again next year. Wise up fools...

Well put, kinda like how for many years it didn't matter who the Bronco's had in the backfield they would put up huge numbers. The Patriots and Belicheat have a great offensive scheme that you can plug practically any QB into and they will have a great year. Take Brady out of NE and he will struggle. Brady is very good but Manning is way better.

Manning will not be the best of all time. Montana is above him due to being 4-0 in the Superbowl and Brady will be above him, Brady I think gets 1 or 2 more rings. Like I said before Manning is Favre or a Richmans Marino. Manning got his ring based on a great performance by Addai in the superbowl and Rex Grossman playing terrible. I think the Bears win that game with Kyle Orton in the game.

Curious, then why didn't Addai get SB MVP?
That's a great question. Answer: political.
Rhodes- 21 carries, 113 yards, TD
Addai- 19 carries, 77 yards, 10 catches, 66 yards
Manning- 25/38, 238 yards, 1 TD 1 INT
Just because he won MVP doesn't mean he deserved it. Did Tracy McGrady deserve to make the NBA all star game? No way.
Snyper- Brady's 3 rings and 14-3 playoff record would disagree with your 4 regular season MVPs and 9-9 playoff record...

We get it guy. You're a Tom Brady nuthugger. That statline does nothing but support the fact that Peyton got what he deserved. If you honestly think that Addai's showing trumped Peyton's then well.. your bias is already well known.

Am I a Peyton fan? You bet. The difference between us is that I don't go posting in every Tom Brady failure thread when given the opportunity like you do for the Peyton threads.

A parting shot for you however- Tom Brady* will be forever linked as a cheat. Can the same be said about Peyton? Nope. Your boy's reputation is as tarnished as they come.
I really have no idea how Manning's super bowl stats are more impressive than the two RBs. 190 total rushing yards helps a QB out quite a bit.
And I think you might be reaching with the cheater thing. I'm sure Belichick will be considered that way, but I don't know of anyone who says "Brady only won because they were filming signals." Probably because no one is dumb enough to actually say that.[/quote:347vmp0b]

Really? I'm pretty sure it's simple math. Peyton had a better day than either single RB did. Not sure how that's so tough to comprehend. I'm pretty sure MVP stands for Most Valuable Player, NOT Most Valuable Combo.

I'm not reaching with anything. You can't isolate filmgate to just the coaching staff. That's ridiculous. That would be like a rifleman blaming his weapon for killing someone instead of he himself. It's a team effort.[/quote:347vmp0b]
I didn't say the combo should have won it, I was pointing out that both of them probably deserved it more. 250 yards, 1 TD (which was to a wide open Wayne in which Manning didn't have to do much) and 1 INT is just not that impressive. I don't think anyone would argue that. And put the Brady/Manning stuff aside, your logic is flawed. You can't use the fact that a guy got an award as evidence that he deserved it. That makes no sense. Do you really think McNabb, Garrard and Vince Young deserved to be in the Pro bowl?[/quote:347vmp0b]

Please. My logic is "flawed" only because I don't agree with you, so spare me.

No one in the game is better than controlling the tempo than Peyton. THAT in and of itself was why he earned the SB MVP. Neither one of those RB's did more for that game than Peyton did.[/quote:347vmp0b]

exactly....joseph addai and rhodes have nothing to do with the what goes on in that offense, manning runs the show THE WHOLE GAME and is basically the offensive coordinator of the colts, the rbs simply listen to peyton and run the ball forward when they get it...

For the record the coaches of Indianapolis have stated more than once that Peyton runs the offense. Rather than calling in the play they call in what they call "suggestions" for Peyton to choose from.

The Pats scored only one offensive TD in in the Super Bowl vs the Rams. I doubt that a team uses the same hand signals every week so the video taping cant help that much.....

RITM, this is crazy! Teams tape teams all the time! What do you think studing film is? Are you trying to discredit Brady so Manning is uplifted because you just invested $2000 into a Manning card that just took a hit?

When did I invest $2K in a Manning card? Please let me know.

Two quick points:

1. If "teams tape teams all the time" please list any other organizations fined for doing so.
2. As far as Brady goes is it not a fair argument to point out that Matt Cassel put up Brady-esque statistics in the NE system when Tom went out? Does a backup QB in Indy put up Peyton's average numbers?

I dont see how Brady is a cheater when they only scored one offensive touchdown in the Super Bowl over the Rams. I doubt videotaping a teams pratice makes that big of a difference.

Where did I say Brady was a cheater?

So is what they did cheating?

ritm dont even argue with the fools, everyone on the football boards should just try to ignore these two, and if bodiaz had any clue about the card you bought than he would know it would never drop in price because it is an iconic card out of maybe the most notabl football autograph set of all time.

Studying film is using GAME FILMS, not PRACTICE FILMS...which is what the Patriots* got caught taping.

What he said^^^ See underlined. The "foe" feature is glorious! Am liking these boards much more now that I made a few of them dissappear. :D
