Manny Machado New Best Prospect In The Minors?

Hey everyone, just wondering where the Top 5 prospect in all of baseball hype comes from with Manny Machado? I understand he is very projectable and only 19 years old until July, but he has yet to produce top prospect level stats in the minor leagues. He has a career minor league average of .258, had 11 home runs his first full season (although as an 18 year old but at a hitters home park in both Delmarva and Frederick), 11 steals, is a risk to grow out of his shortstop body, and more. I understand that his potential can be that of a top 5 prospect, but at this time, do people really think he has the stats to back up some people calling him the number 1 prospect in baseball right now? Just wondering what people's thoughts were.

A pitcher should not be the best prospect, unless they have 4 or 5 starts with no hits and no walks given up. I can't believe Dylan walked a batter, he has command issues. ha ha.

I understand Bundy, but what has Machado done to prove to you that he's better than people like Profar, Sano, Taijuan Walker, and others?

It's not just my opinion.
He's on top of every prospect list for a reason.
For his age, ability, and ceiling, the numbers are there.

Do your own research, you are free to disagree. That's "prospecting".

IDK, his stats aren't setting the world on fire.... but 19.. in AA.. still collecting XBH...but most importantly, his SO to BB ratio is excellent for someone his age, playing at his level. Who else at his level has the same patience AND ability to drive the ball to gaps? Profar is about the closest and I'd say better between the two is a fair debate.

If Machado wasn't Machado...he would be a $15 - $25 bowman chrome autograph based on average statistics alone and young age, but potential is everything

His plate patience is solid (12 walks, bring his poor .253 AVG up to a respectable .352 OBP), but his 18 Ks over 20 games are a bit high..

Probably just a rough patch too but after a hot start, over his past 10 games he's batting .229 with 0 HR and 4 RBI and a .676 OPS...

I think this year could be a huge year for Machado but if he has a comparable year to last year (sub-par to average), I can't see him staying in the top 5 with (2) straight mediocre years, even with with immense potential

Please. You can't properly evaluate talent on stats alone. Heck, age is one the most important factors and you didn't even include it
