I would offer him $25 million for one year with three one year team options at $25m and player options at 20/15/10. You can't risk having this guy hold your franchise hostage like he did Boston.

And Manny rejects said offer :?

Poor guy cant feed his family on that.... just ask Spreewell.

In this current economic world, I hope thats the last offer he gets. Then he can sit at home and play catch and video games with Barry Bonds.

Many people are struggling with trying to make ends meet and he has the balls to reject $25 million?

No doubt about it , Manny will not be sitting out this coming season. Boras most likely is just sitting tight , because the closer it gets to spring training the more GM's start to get antsy. Boras will get Manny his money. My prediction is that Manny Rameriz will be in pin stripes if the Yanks get get rid of Matsui Swisher and or Nady in the next week or so.

The Cardinals would be the most interesting location for him (and in my opinion for baseball) but I just don't see them offering more.
I should have continued with "...than the Dodgers" as I am completely aware that the Cardinals did not make an offer to Manny and it is almost a power play by Pujols to get him some help.

That said, their outfielders can't hit half of what Manny is capable of...so yes, they could use an "outfielder" with Manny's bat.

he turned it down- that is a lot of $$$ to turn down, he needs that long-term deal, and i don't think anyone will give him more than 20 a year for more than 3 years

edit- didn't see this posted up there :)

I dare ManRam to reconsider and accept the 1 yr/$25m dodger offer and earn his way to another contract in 2010 (instead of playing lazy and raking in the money for the next few years until the next contract year).
