...might have more to do with the Brewers making a move for pitching than Doug Melvin's wants. Seriously, I've never seen a string of performances that seem to basically assure a demotion. Milwaukee HAS to do something about him. And there is nothing in the minors at the moment.

It's sad and painful. ::facepalm::

and he's gone...

yeah, those have made me jealous for a long time. He's not done permanently, but he's digging a MASSIVE hole for himself and forcing the Brewer's hand.

Parra needs to be moved to the bullpen. Put McClung into the starting role. The only other option in the Minors is Chris Cody. He is having another fairly decent year in the minors. I see that Cody was promoted to AAA in June so hopefully he can be our savior, honestly, almost anyone would be better than Parra right now.

The fact that the Brewers have 1 hit makes it kind of a team embarrassment, but Manny is still the glaring coldsore on this game.

Conversely, Chris Smith (the guy who replaced Manny) had 5 K in 3.1 IP; that's striking out 50% of batters faced.

Well, yeah, the 1 hit isn't helping much. That's nice about Chris Smith, I actually just turned the game on and didn't realize that. I wonder if they will convert him to a starter. He started a handful of games last season in the minors so I can't believe that isn't out of the question.

They should trade him straight up to the Giants for Jonathan Sanchez. They both could just use a change of scenery and are very similar pitchers.

He had a great start last year against the Astros. I thought he had a legit shot to be a very good major league starter.

I know he has sucked most of the year but he does have the stuff. Its been sad to see him struggle so bad and then take it to a new level in his last 4 starts which were very hard to watch. I truly hope he finds his confidence and groove back in AAA.

PS telling him during the game I think is a little low class, talk about piling on

It looks like we are going to go on a 4-man rotation until at least June 28th.

I always thought that if you were in the majors for more than a year of service, an option to the minors would only happen if the player cleared waivers. Must be 3 years instead.

A player has 3 minor league options. An option is when the player is sent down in a year (no matter how many times).
So a player needs to be sent down in 3 different years to be out of options.
