Nope ended up paying a bit more, ha. At least the Wasdin was a little under $100.
Ouch! I'll say it again, your dedication to the A's is amazing.

Then again, it's all relative. I just paid about $50 delivered for a wedding invitation. It was 51 years old and for the Steve Garvey/Cyndy Truhan wedding, but still...I'm sure MANY folks would laugh or think I was crazy to spend that on something as silly as that.

Hey at least that's a pretty rare personal item.

I just didn't want to miss the boat on the Mirror Golds...there are some '90s sets that I've been priced out of and I regret not buying the cards back when they were "affordable."

@mrmopar I spent about $60 for all the 90s stuff I posted in that post. There's a dealer in my area that finds tons and tons of '90s collections. He only regularly sets up at a couple local shows though so when he's there I go load up. Most of the show pickups came from him and I picked through his $1 and $5 boxes for stuff I needed. The Maddux Hot Glove for instance was in the $5 box. He generally gives me a good break on stuff too. I pulled $60-65 worth of stuff out of his boxes that trip and he knocked it down to $40.

I find a lot of the commons on Facebook in $0.50 or $1.00 claim sales like the Paul Wilson Rock Solid Foundations was $0.50 in a sale somewhere. Generally I can find enough cards in those to make the shipping worth it.

You'll still pay up for a lot of the more popular stars in popular sets though. Griffey, Jeter, Thomas, and a few other still sell really well.

2021 Mosaic "No Huddle Pink" 15/20. I'm now up to 22 from this moronic set. Stephen Vogt completes the 2016 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor/50 team set, which is a whole 4 cards. Just for fun here's the other three:

2021 Mosaic = "moronic". Hmm. Hard to argue. But I am also pursuing it like dumbasss. I think I'm up to 25 Alomars. Haven't found one in a while, but that's totally OK.

Yeah I'm chipping away at the Puckett set but I honestly don't know my count. I was able to land a few of the lower numbered ones though but there are a bunch of different ones that are /20 or less

Oh yeah totally...I think Mosaic is moronic, but I'm still buying them so I'm a moron/sucker!

Another moronic purchase, the "No Huddle Purple" variation 07/50. A cooler card, 2000 Fleer Showcase Legacy Ben Grieve 10/20. Beautiful set, this is only my second card from it as I already had an Adam Piatt...still missing Eric Chavez and Mark Mulder. And a 2008 Topps Black Mike Sweeney 49/57. Still need 5 cards from that set...it's the only Topps Black set between 2003 and 2016 that I need more than 2 cards to complete.

The Zito/Mulder was the last Blue dual jersey/50 card with an A's player I needed out of 2005 Reflections. I still need one Red/99 card to be totally done with them. And a 2012 UD Goodwin Champions Mini Red Magician Back Billy Beane 12/12.

Wow that's a great one.

Here's today's mail:

032522.jpg

Piazza completes the 2007 Topps Chrome X-Fractors team set and I believe finishes up every Refractor parallel from that set minus the Supers...regular, Blue, White, Red, and X. Still 13 to go on 2020 Topps Black but the Chapman is a nice addition. Last and least is a 2021 Topps Vintage Elvis Andrus 17/99.

Something that takes me back to my childhood, although I think I only had a couple of these. Slim Jim FB discs by MSA. I think it was 1978 that they were issued, a set that would not have a 2nd issue.

They stood out in my mind though. Wonder why I didn't buy more? I landed a large lot of them. The set is only 70 players, but is lacking major star power for the most part. Really an odd issue actually. Payton headlines the set, but after him a few stars and a couple lesser known eventual HOFers and mostly commons. they are still very cool to me. I may be close to the set now, if not complete.

I'm not a huge fan of buyback autos, but I do like Donruss Recollection Collection. The Stew is 03/10. 2020 Topps Black Frankie Montas is 58/69. And then there's the 2021 Platinum Anniversary parallel of Trevor Rosenthal, who never did play a single game for the A's. 04/70.

Nice pickups! I've got about 1/3 of the Mirror Gold set, including the Wasdin and Bordick. Now we know where at least 3 of each are hiding!
