"Assuming" there will be a crazy crazy line ;)

Doubt there will be a crazy crazy line according to the email I received

1. This signing is limited to 400 signatures only
2. Advanced Ticket Orders are Extremely recommended!
3. Tickets will be available day of show. Only if they are still available.
4. Mail Order will be accepted.
5. No SHL Discounts or any other discounts will be made available.
6. Posed Photography is at the discretion of Mariano.
7. Tickets will be called by numbers over the microphone. Strict line and number system will be enforced.
8. Please expect time delays as this signing will be heavily attended.

IF they stick to the 400 autographs I can see this being sold out quite quickly thru the mail and thru advanced sales

There will be a lot of unhappy people showing up looking to get his auto

$299 + $99 is a lot but for an auto but I'd gladly pay it

It's sad to see this kind of thing. $300 for a guy who just retired and is still alive? Did we, the fans, not make him rich enough already that he can't sign some autographs at a "reasonable" price now and again? All arguments aside…he probably needs no more money for something like this (the payday for this type of thing is probably insignificant to his overall wealth) and everyone's time is valuable, but really!?

I wonder what a guy like Bobby Doerr thinks about this type of thing? Doerr never made anywhere near the kind of money common scrub ballplayers make now. He is a HOFer and graciously signs for free to anyone who will mail him something (often multiples). Sure, he is much older and retired, but wow…what a difference in mindset here.

The sandman can pound sand as far as I am concerned. It's not him, it's his agent or the promotor you say? He gets paid for his time and I'm pretty sure he has control over this if he chooses to do so.

I don't think, in any way shape or form, there will a problem selling out...perhaps couple times over.

Could be wrong but when it comes to legends, especially Yankees and especially extremely rare public signings, collectors go nuts.

I'm a Yankee fan to the end and I can not agree with you more. I am going to that show and there is no way I am paying that. I'm sure it will sell out but it will not be 8-12y old kids in that line. I will be in the Rubén Sierra or Horace Clarke line.

That's the problem.. Because there are people that will pay that cost and more they continue to ask ridiculous prices and it will continue until someone(promoter) is smart enough to say stick it or the fans quit licking boot. I was interested but that's simply stupid

I don't know where he will be set up, most likely a private room, but I'm sure people will come thinking/hoping they will able to watch him or get a glance.

I was in Vegas last month and Jerry Rice was doing a signing in the mall. They had a monitor set up so you can see him signing. No photos of him but it was still was a cool concept.
