Speculation is 1 yr + option through 2013. At least he shouldn't have to worry about being on the hot seat this off-season.
Jack's done a nice job bringing in lots of young talent and developing a system tailored for Safeco. The Chone Figgins deal was a disaster and the Morrow trade was bad in some eyes but other than that he's done well considering the horrible situation he inherited.
The Mariners are headed in the right direction and Jack Z's fingerprints are all over the MLB club as well as their solid system.
