I REALLY doubt that it's Daryl Jones. Maybe Jon Jay, but Daryl Jones is soo raw and has so much talent. Probably a pitcher. Maybe Boggs or PJ Walters.

Excuse me while I say YAYAYYAYAYAYAY.

No more Thurston at 3rd!!!!

Mark will be a huge help to the Cardinals offense, and he can play a slew of defensive positions as well. He started off slow for Cleveland this year, but he got it going in a big way eventually. I know I'll miss seeing him in the Tribe lineup every night. Enjoy Cards fans! :)

He just seems like the perfect TLR player. 50 RBI is a nice total for not even being half way through the year.

Us Cardinal fans get extremely excited just over the minor deals. Everyone is going crazy right now. Everyone has wanted DeRosa for a few months now.

Chris Perez throws incredibly hard, but that's about it. Batters caught onto his fastball, so he developed a slider, which isn't really effective, at least yet. If he develops some off-speed pitches, he could be very successful.

So do the Cardinals still try for Matt Holiday now?

ESPN was reporting that the Cardinals would offer a deal of Ryan Ludwick and either Jason Motte, Chris Perez or Kyle McClellan and another prospect for Matt Holiday.

I wouldn't think the Cardinals would trade another young reliever. That sort of limits deal possibilties though. Ludwick would probably be the main piece of the deal. The Cardinals would probably have to deal two hitting prospects, preferably some outfielders to clear the glut a little. Guys like Jon Jay, Daryl Jones could be moved. They might even deal someone like Pete Kozma if Oakland is interested. I really hope Clayton Mortensen wouldn't be dealt, but I could see guys like PJ Walters or Mitchell Boggs being traded. That is, as long as one of them isn't the PTBNL.

Sweet I think we give it a couple weeks and see how it works then see if we need another guy the trade should spark some guys to make it or break it
ie: Duncan ,Ankiel ,Ludwick Rasmus is not going anywhere he is the best guy they have right now in the outfield

I love this. Perfect fit. He will wear number 7, and be in uniform today. Tony said the Holiday deal is dead because they wanted Brett Wallace as a starting point which is ridiculous. Go rape someone elses farm system Beane, we can just make a push for him in the offseason thank you. Mather or Freese could be the PTBNL I think. But I have no clue really. I love how some Cubs fans are pissed. Have seen a few mad on other boards. But if my team let DeRosa go to get that idiot Milton, then our main rival picked him up to help keep us out of the playoffs while we were stuck with Aaron Miles I`d be pissed too.

DeRosa is going to be a Cubs killer. He is a bada$$ as it is, and he's sure to have a HUGE chip on his shoulder with the cubbies. This will make some very interesting talk radio.

The PTBNL is between the trio of Daryl Jones, Fransisco Samuel, and Jess Todd.

Source?

I've heard all 3 names being mentioned, but mostly off of the STLToday boards, so I don't believe it.

Out of that group, if true, I hope it's Samuel. DJ is so raw, so toolsy. Todd can be a great set-up man, maybe somewhat of a replacement for Perez. Samuel is another righty who throws smoke, just can't find the strike zone this year.

Usually there's 5 people to be chosen from in a PTBNL deal. I really doubt it's any of those guys anyway.

Bernie Miklasz (Post Dispatch writer) said that the PTBNL was based on DeRosa's contract status for next year. Whether he resigns or not.

I really hope it's not Jones, he's been developing really well. Needs to get moved to Memphis to continue his development at this point. I personally think it will be Jess Todd.
