The whole thing was terribly painful. That guy was going to be the rock for the Cubs rotation for years to come. I still think the collision with Marcus Giles when running from 1st to 2nd was the cause of everything. Experts say otherwise, but I think that played a large role in his decline.

File under "What Could Have Been." It's the second largest folder in the Cubs office, right behind "Wait To Next Year."

Just imagine his career, and Kerry Wood's if they were never with the Cubs.

I bet they both would have both had great careers.

Man o man. Dude was electric. Another name to add to the legendary "could have been" list (which would make a great side project collection). At one point I swore him and Rick Ankiel would still be dualing each other for CY awards in 2014

To be fair Kerry was a DL dweller regardless of team. His delivery would have never held up. Prior might have been overworked, but he didn't pitch any more than pitchers that were much smaller than him used to back in the day.

Are the rumors true that he could get a spot in the Padres FO?

The only game I've gone to at Wrigley was in 2002. Prior was the starting pitcher and Sosa hit a home run. Those were simpler times...

The 2003 Cubs were my favorite team ever and Prior was my favorite player. I actually picked up an auto at the national last year. His autos go for more than you might expect for a guys who hasn't pitched in 7 years.
