Wagner is ripping it up in Portland... .339 average with a .453 OBP, 16 doubles, including one that drove in the only run of the Sea Dogs' game last night. I know Dusty Brown is catching in Pawtucket right now, but what else does Wagner need to do to move up?

IMO, neither one of the Pawtucket catchers (Brown or Maldonado) should be getting catching priorities over this kid right now. After a poor 2008 season, Wagner has bounced back in a huge way. He's been absolutely unconscious as of late, and a promotion to AAA has to be on the horizon.

I'm sayin'. Brown never had that high of a ceiling anyway, and with Kottaras the back up in Boston now, I don't see Brown having much of a future in the organization.

I don't see any catcher in the sox organization having a future in Boston. Anything past next year will come from outside the organization.

I hope they move him up so we can see what Exposito can do in AA. He is probably the future catcher for the Sox unless they trade for someone.

I don't know what's not to like about Wagner. I know he's a little old (almost 25, still in AA) but his defense is there, as far as I can read, and if he keeps this up offensively, he could start in Boston in 2011.

Mauer 2011 :D

Highly likely because I know that the Twins are high on Wilson Ramos and he should be ready by 2011.

And also we have the money we didn't expend on Teixeira and at signing Mauer we achieve he doesn't go elsewhere.....

The sox will have plenty of money come 2011. Beckett, Drew, and Ortiz all have contracts that expire after next season.

Drew will still be owed $14 million for 2011 and will have to see if they pick up Papi's option for 2011
