28 mill guaranteed is not that bad, especially if he goes out and plays well next year, if he doesn't then just 1 more year before you can cut bait.

He was going to get 15 this year guaranteed. The guaranteed money is 28. So for 5 more years he is only guaranteed 13. Obviously the numbers will change but it's a pretty cheap deal for them. Oh and they are under the floor for salary cap right now.
