Sori was in my top 5 current favorite players before he signed with the Cubs.

I loved him in New York, Texas and Washington. He was a baller.

But when he signed with the Cubs, I knew nothing good would come from it, and nothing really has. Plus, I am forced to hate his guts now, which sucks, because I really liked him.

And I hope to God that this Holliday deal doesn't turn out like the Soriano deal has for the Cubs. That would be terrible!

I agree with you about how great Soriano was before he was a Cub. I hate him with a passion now as well as he sucks. I am sure Holiday will be better than Soriano, but I when he signed for that kind of money I immediately thought of Soriano's crazy contract and they are about the same age as well. Anyway I of course like Slaten since he sees the world from my point of view......anti- St. Louis.

What gets me about the Holliday contract is that he will STILL be recieving money from the Cardinals until the guy is 49 YEARS OLD!!!

49 for Christ's sake!!!

And I HATE the full no trade clause.

Those two things are keeping me from totally loving this.

I am a fan of the signing, but when I seen that he'd be getting between 1.4 and 1.6 million a year until the guys was 49 years old, it made me think twice about what St. Louis did. But like I said before, this move was all about making Pujols happy, so I am okay with that.

Sam,
What's the over/under on how many years until his contract becomes an albatross? I say 4 years. I like Holliday, but do not like 7 years in length.

I was thinking/taking about it earlier, and 5 tops. But if I had to choose, I would say 4.

And if her were to have the same stink as DL Drew had wearing that number 7, it may be 2. Lets hope that isn't the case!!!

Man, I still hate JD Drew,

I thought 7 would be an appropriate number for Holliday...

Actually, more like E-7. :benson:
