His Elite Autos #/799 routinely sell for $150 ... you can buy 5+ of these for the same price, with roughly the same print-run! The only difference is the egregious market saturation with the way these Razor Metals are distributed ... it makes it a very buyer-friendly environment. But in 5 years, when someone is looking for a Wieters RC Auto, they are going to have 2 options - Elite or Razor ... each with similar print runs. I actually think the Razor Metal is much more aesthetically pleasing, but it will really come down to whether or not Razor can establish itself as a player in the baseball card market and withstand the test of time. If it keeps pumping out quality products like this one, then I think in 5 years these two cards will be seen almost as equals.

Only problem, one is a 2007 release and the other a 2008. I agree these could be a huge flip in a few years, but the EEE always will be the preferred being a year earlier.

Weiters or Wieters?? ::facepalm::

I before E except after C.... or is it W??

As much praise and love that this guy gets.... it still amazes me how often his name is spelled wrong on these boards.
I before E except after C, unless as an A as in neighbor or weigh.

Yes its still an '08 card, are you going to be a dick and do this everytime someone says this. Its kind of annoying. Adding you as a foe was the best thing I did months ago.

I was thinking that as I typed that. I don't know how to say his name properly. I guess I'm out of touch on prospect info not on these boards.

I know of 2 people who really love me. You and Jaypers. Its amazing how someone can take something said on a message board so serious that they "foe" them.

Back to the question.... No I wont....Yes I will.... hell I dont know. How is this a 2008 card? Just because it has the same design? Werent they all printed in 2009 and released in 2009? They are not pack issued. But he has you guys drinking from his straw.... so he will cash in nicely.

These Metal cards are starting to grow in me.
At first, I thought Razor's base autograph design was boring.
But the Metal actually looks like metal, which is kind of cool, and different than Chrome.
Do they look that way in person as well, or is it just an effect of the scanner?
I'm really tempted to buy a Wieters since I watched him play in the Hawaii Winter Baseball League in '07.

They look 10X better in person, especially the parallels.

The cards look tremendously better in hand then scanned. Sort of like 2009 Bowman Sterling.

I thought cards like this were printed on a sheet? Seeing such widespread production numbers raises a red flag to me. Is there a whole sheet of Weiters alone? Without serial numbering I'd assume there are (were) 700 of each card made. I'm not trying to piss anyone off, but why would one (very in-demand) exclusive guy sign 700 copies of a card & another only sign a few dozen? As an industry-guy not much here makes sense to me, that's all.

I wonder whats up with all the Team USA GU jerseys?

Pricing, as I mentioned earlier in this thread.

Pricing, as I mentioned earlier in this thread.

(from earlier post)

Around $8-12.

Brian tells me the reason they made so many Wieters as compared to the others (which had print runs of less than 200 each) was:

1) Heavy demand
2) Lower print run equals a much higher BIN (he guesstimated around $50-60 per).

That's got me a little confused Jaypers. I would think heavy demand & limited supply would be the winning formula. To have a parallel with with a low run *except* for the hottest player makes no sense to me whatsoever. In a decade, assuming Weiters goes on to acheive stardom, and his gold metal auto is going for far less than some far lesser players because it was "quadruple printed" (& then some), it just seems to not add up to me.

Also to put this issue (on the market today & unnumbered) on par with a numbered card issued in 2007 by an established, credible company like Donruss/Playoff is just wrong. It is not a valid comparison imho.

You can get this one for about a seventh of the price you can get a Donruss right now. Which one has better return potential at this point? I'd have to say it's easily the Razor at this point. Case in point, Evan Longoria. Every card of his is selling crazy now.

You haven't heard me knock the price beefy, not for a second.

Return potential, that is an interesting concept. Care to expand on that comment?

Fixed it for you.

Do you ever see QVC or HSN cards going for huge prices after they are sold on air?
