If mauer could play 1b mauer, we need a power hitting 1b.

You willing to fork over, Lincecum, Alderson, Bumgarner, Cain and Sandoval?

What are you smoking?

Obviously kidding.... but Mauer is untouchable.

He's a FA in 2010, he could very well move to another team.

I am a Twins fan, I know he will be a FA in 2010 (Twins will most likely sign re-sign him this offseason). Mauer is not going anywhere.

The scary thing is Mauer is entering his prime.

How old is he right now? Mauer can make up for those seasons where the power wasn't really there.

If Mauer can win a batting title, hit 25 home runs and catch at the same time, this guy will have fulfilled his promise as a superstar.

The key is staying healthy and continuing to show he can consistency pop home runs. He has proven he has the ability to be one of baseball's pure hitters.

Keep in mind that Mauers new found power may not continue (I am not calling it a fluke, but slugging .667 is crazy, even in limited PA), you never know:

-Morneau has slugged over .490 in 4 of his 6 seasons, with an average slugging percentage of .506.

- Mauer has slugged over .490 once in 4 seasons, compiling a .476 slugging percentage.
